Summer is here. Some people like to use fans and air conditioners, but some people are different. They dare not use them because they may catch a cold easily if they are not careful. This is called yang deficiency in traditional Chinese medicine. So what are the symptoms of yang deficiency? What are the symptoms of Yang deficiency? 1. I don’t feel that I am sick, but my face is pale, gray and dull, not very rosy. If a woman has yang deficiency, her complexion will often turn pale and lose its rosy color, making her look bloodless. 2. Reduced resistance, obvious fear of wind and cold, particularly sensitive to seasonal changes, and prone to catching a cold if not careful. 3. Poor appetite or loose, unformed stools, frequent chronic diarrhea, especially after staying up late, eating cold food, being tired or catching a cold. 4. Any slight activity, even climbing three floors, will cause you to feel anxious and short of breath. You will also sweat easily and urinate frequently at night. 5. Women may feel listless, short of breath, and even have symptoms of irregular menstruation; while men may suffer from lower back pain, impotence, premature ejaculation, etc. How to treat Yang deficiency? 1. Mental care People with insufficient Yang Qi often show bad moods, such as those with liver Yang deficiency who are prone to fear, and those with heart Yang deficiency who are prone to sadness. Therefore, we should be good at regulating our emotions and eliminating or reducing the impact of negative emotions. 2. Diet adjustment According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, "Yang should be nourished in spring and summer, and Yin should be nourished in autumn and winter." People with insufficient Yang can adjust their body's Yang through diet, medication, external treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and exercise. They should gradually increase the Yang in their body and eat more Yang-replenishing foods on a daily basis, such as lamb, dog meat, onions, ginger, garlic, dried shrimp, leeks, walnut kernels, pepper and other foods. Eat less raw, cold foods, such as cucumber, lotus root, pear, watermelon, etc. 3. Physical exercise Because "movement generates yang", people with yang deficiency should strengthen physical exercise. Specific activities depend on physical strength, such as walking, jogging, Tai Chi, Five Animal Exercises, Eight-Section Brocade, internal nourishment exercises, work-break calisthenics, ball games and various dance activities. You can also get more sun exposure to strengthen your yang energy. Traditional Chinese medicine has methods of internally and externally replenishing yang. The external treatment method is based on the theory that fire is yang and moxibustion warms yang. It adopts fire moxibustion therapy to treat the yang meridians, Du meridian and other parts of the human body to dredge the yang meridians, stimulate the body's yang energy, and thus improve the symptoms of yang deficiency. 4. Keep warm In summer, the human body's yang energy tends to the surface of the body, and the pores and skin open. People with yang deficiency should not sleep outdoors, and should not let electric fans blow directly on them when sleeping. In rooms with air-conditioning equipment, be careful not to let the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor be too large. At the same time, avoid staying for a long time under the shade of trees, in water pavilions, and in corridors with strong winds. If you do not pay attention to keeping warm in summer and only seek temporary relief, it is more likely to cause numbness of hands and feet or facial paralysis, which is what Chinese medicine calls "wind arthralgia". |
