Due to the deterioration of people's living environment in modern life and other reasons, pneumothorax is becoming more and more common. Pneumothorax refers to the entry of gas into the pleural cavity, causing a state of gas accumulation, which is called pneumothorax. Pneumothorax is the collapse of all or part of a lung when air or other gas enters the pleural space surrounding the lung. What should I do if I have pneumothorax? 1. Exhaust therapy1: Based on symptoms, signs, X-ray findings and intrathoracic pressure measurement results, determine the type of pneumothorax and whether immediate venting is required. If venting is required, what method should be used. 2: Closed pneumothorax When the amount of gas in closed pneumothorax is less than 20% of the chest cavity volume on that side, the gas can be absorbed by itself within 2-3 weeks without the need for vacuum extraction, but the changes in the amount of gas accumulation should be observed dynamically. When the amount of air is large, air can be pumped out once a day or every other day, with no more than 1L of air pumped out each time, until most of the lungs are re-expanded and the remaining accumulated air is allowed to be absorbed by itself. 3: High-pressure pneumothorax is an acute and serious condition that is life-threatening and must be vented as soon as possible. A pneumothorax box can be used to measure pressure and vent air at the same time. In an emergency, a sterilized needle is inserted into the pleural cavity through the intercostal space on the affected side, so that the highly positive pressure intrathoracic air can be discharged by itself, relieving symptoms. In an emergency, you can also use a large syringe to connect the three-way switch to draw air, or insert a needle through the chest wall and use a hose to connect the tail end to a water seal bottle for drainage, so that the high-pressure gas can be discharged in one direction. You can also use a thick injection needle, put a rubber finger cap on the tail, cut a small slit at the end of the finger cap, and insert it into the pneumothorax for temporary and simple exhaust. The high-pressure gas is discharged from the small slit. When the intra-thoracic pressure is reduced to negative pressure, the cuff collapses and the small slit closes, so that the outside air cannot enter the pleural cavity. 2. Folk remedies1: Peach kernel and safflower soup: 15g peach kernel, 10g safflower, 100g lotus root starch. Boil 200 ml of peach kernel and safflower liquid, then add lotus root powder and stir. Suitable for those with weak chest yang. 2: Fresh orange juice: Peel the orange and squeeze out half a bowl of juice. Add rice wine and drink 2 to 3 spoons each time, twice a day. Suitable for people with liver depression and qi stagnation. 3: Job's tears porridge: Cook the raw Job's tears and white rice in a ratio of 1:3. First, cook the Job's tears until they are soft, then add the white rice to cook porridge. Suitable for those with phlegm-heat blocking the lungs. 4: Five-juice drink: 500 grams each of fresh reed root, snow pear (peeled), water chestnut (peeled), fresh lotus root, 100 grams of fresh Ophiopogon japonicus, squeeze the juice and mix them, take cold or warm twice a day. Suitable for those with insufficient lung yin. Three: Other treatments1: Patients with spontaneous pneumothorax have atrophy of the lungs, which affects gas exchange, forms a right-to-left shunt, decreases blood oxygen saturation, and increases alveolar-arterial oxygen partial pressure. But later, due to the decrease in blood flow to the atrophic lung, the right-to-left shunt was corrected and the oxygen saturation was quickly restored. Due to the presence of pneumothorax, restrictive ventilation dysfunction occurred, and vital capacity and other lung volumes decreased. In severe cases, respiratory failure may occur. Depending on the patient's condition, give oxygen appropriately and treat the underlying disease. Attention should also be paid to the prevention and treatment of chest infections, as well as antitussive and expectorant, analgesic, rest, and supportive therapy. 4: Patients should do more physical exerciseEnhance immunity and avoid colds, but the intensity of exercise should not be too high. Communicate more with family and friends, and don't isolate yourself from others. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, breathe more fresh air, rest on time, and go to bed early and get up early. |
