Inventory of clinical symptoms of hepatitis A

If you want to know whether you are affected by hepatitis A, you should pay attention to the various symptoms of hepatitis A. Generally, patients may show symptoms of chills, fever, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, so pay attention to these symptoms and treat them in time.

1. Clinical symptoms of hepatitis A

Hepatitis A clinically manifests itself as an acute onset with symptoms such as chills, fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, indigestion, loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, hepatomegaly and abnormal liver function. When it first occurs, it is often mistaken for a cold and easily ignored, which delays the disease and causes outbreaks or epidemics. About 83% of hepatitis A patients have fever (mostly between 38℃ and 39℃), with an average fever lasting 3 days, but 15% of patients have fever for more than 5 days. 90% of patients have jaundice and severe gastrointestinal symptoms. ALT elevation is large, with 800IU/L-2000IU/L accounting for 55%.

2. Transmission routes of hepatitis A

The sources of hepatitis A infection are usually acute patients and subclinical infected persons. Patients are most contagious from the end of the incubation period to 10 days after onset of the disease. The fecal-oral route is the main route of transmission. Water and food are the main ways of outbreaks, and daily life contact is the main route of transmission for sporadic cases. There are reports that hepatitis A can also be transmitted through blood and vertical transmission (Foreign Medical Communication Volume 1994), but further research is needed.

3. Prevention of Hepatitis A

In addition to actively preventing diseases from entering the body through the mouth, you can get vaccinated with the hepatitis A vaccine, which can produce nearly 100% immunity. Just one injection in the arm can make the body immune to prevent hepatitis A and prevent it from being infected.
