How to check alcoholic liver disease? The inspection items are divided into 4 points

Many people are very interested in how to detect alcoholic liver disease. In fact, the main examinations for alcoholic liver disease can be divided into four points, namely, routine blood test, biochemical test, imaging test and liver tissue pathology examination.

1. Alcoholic liver disease examination: Routine blood test : Alcoholic liver disease patients may have leukocytosis, various abnormal erythrocytes, including target cells, macrocytes, thorny cells and stomatocytes, increased mean corpuscular volume (MCV), and may have thrombocytopenia, which is caused by the direct toxic effect of alcohol on the bone marrow or secondary hypersplenism.

2. Patients with alcoholic liver disease need to undergo biochemical tests: serum bilirubin may be elevated and the AST/ALT ratio may be increased, that is, AST activity is significantly increased, while ALT activity is only slightly increased or normal. If AST/ALT>2, the sensitivity of diagnosing alcoholic liver disease is 68%, the specificity is 91%, and the positive predictive value is 82%.

3. Patients need to undergo imaging examinations : B-ultrasound and CT examinations of the liver can assist in the diagnosis of alcoholic liver disease. In addition, plain CT scans are used for the clinical diagnosis of alcoholic fatty liver disease. The liver-spleen density ratio can be used as a reference standard for measuring alcoholic fatty liver disease or as a basis for follow-up efficacy.

4. Pathological examination of liver tissue: Liver biopsy is an accurate and reliable diagnostic examination item, and has important diagnostic value for alcoholic liver disease. Patients with alcoholic liver disease must go for examination, which will help doctors make better treatment plans. Treatment of alcoholic liver disease should be timely and early. Generally, selenium malt schisandra tablets and other alcohol-detoxifying and liver-protecting preparations that accelerate alcohol metabolism can be taken. At the same time, strict abstinence from alcohol is required.
