Symptoms of reflux gastritis

The main symptoms are abdominal distension and discomfort, persistent burning sensation in the upper and middle abdomen, and may also manifest as pain behind the sternum, which may worsen after meals and is not relieved but aggravated by taking alkaline drugs. It may be accompanied by abdominal distension, belching, heartburn, acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, intestinal rumbling, difficulty in defecation, loss of appetite and weight loss. In severe cases, there may also be gastric bleeding, manifested as vomiting blood or black stools (tarry stools) and a positive fecal occult blood test.
