Uterine fibroids are mostly benign and are most common in middle-aged women. The most obvious symptom of uterine fibroids is menstrual disorder. 1. Qi stagnation

Symptoms: Distension in the lower abdomen, the mass is not firm and can be moved by pushing, and the pain may be in any place, either up or down. The tongue coating is thin, white and moist, and the pulse is deep and stringy.

Treatment method: Promote qi circulation, relieve stagnation, activate blood circulation and eliminate symptoms

Prescription: Xiangleng Pills with modifications. 10g of costus root, 15g of clove, 25g of trifoliate root, 15g of fructus aurantii, 25g of zedoaria, 10g of green tangerine peel, 15g of toosendan fruit, 15g of cumin can be decocted in water or ground into powder and made into water pills for oral administration. For irregular menstruation, add salvia miltiorrhiza 20g, Cyperus rotundus 15g; for excessive leucorrhea, add Poria 15g, Coix seed 15g, Angelica dahurica 10g; for severe abdominal pain, add Corydalis yanhusuo 15g, Panax notoginseng 15g.

2. Blood stasis

Symptoms: The mass in the uterus is hard and fixed, painful and resistant to pressure, accompanied by dull complexion, dry skin, heavy menstrual flow or delayed menstruation, dry mouth and no desire to drink. The tongue is red with petechiae on the edges, and the pulse is deep and sluggish.

Treatment method: Promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, eliminate symptoms and disperse nodules.

Prescription: Guizhi Fuling Pills with modifications. 15g of cinnamon twig, 20g of Poria cocos, 20g of moutan bark, 15g of peony root, and 15g of peach kernel. It can be decocted in water and taken orally, or ground into fine powder and made into water pills for oral administration. In case of excessive menstruation or continuous metrorrhagia, add 15g of Puhuang and 20g of Fructus Aconiti Lateralis Preparata; in case of excessive leucorrhea, add 15g of Coix Seed and 10g of Angelica dahurica; in case of severe abdominal pain, add 15g of Corydalis yanhusuo, 15g of frankincense and 15g of myrrh; in case of scanty menstruation or amenorrhea, add 20g of Achyranthes bidentata and 15g of Zedoariae; if the lump is obvious and cannot be moved, add blood-dispelling and hard-breaking drugs, leeches, earthworms, etc.

3. Phlegm and dampness

Symptoms: A lump in the lower abdomen, which is sometimes painful and soft when pressed, and there is a lot of vaginal discharge. If the condition is cold, the vaginal discharge will be white and sticky, the body will be afraid of cold, the chest will feel stuffy, the urination will be frequent, the tongue coating will be white and greasy, the tongue will be dark purple, and the pulse will be thin, moist and slippery. If the patient is hot, the vaginal discharge will be yellow and sticky, with a foul odor, or even like pus, and there will be chest tightness and irritability, fever and thirst, less urine and yellow color, a yellow and greasy tongue coating, a red tongue, and a stringy or slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment method: regulating qi, resolving phlegm, and eliminating symptoms

Prescription: Erchen Decoction with added ingredients. Processed Pinellia 20g, Tangerine Peel 15g, Poria 15g, Citrus Aurantii Peel 10g, Cyperus 10g, Ligusticum chuanxiong 15g, Trillium 25g, Curcuma 25g, Aucklandia 10g, Atractylodes 10g, Licorice 10g. For those with spleen deficiency, add 15g of Codonopsis pilosula and 10g of Atractylodes macrocephala; if the leucorrhea is yellow, remove Cyperus rotundus and Atractylodes lancea, and add 15g of Patrinia scabra and 15g of Scutellaria baicalensis.
