What are the causes of thoracic spine pain?

Thoracic spine pain is a common disease in our lives. There are many causes of this disease, most of which are caused by thoracic vertebrae degenerative hyperplasia, so we must treat it in time, otherwise the consequences will be very serious.

The lateral view of the thoracic spine shows lip-like hyperplasia at the anterior edge of the vertebral body, and the frontal view shows subluxation of the rib head. Most of them show relatively extensive narrowing of the thoracic intervertebral space, sclerosis of the cartilage plates, and lip-like osteophytes on the anterior or lateral edge of the vertebral body. In some cases, shadows of Smoller's nodes, thoracic scoliosis, and deepening of the physiological curvature can be seen.

The main cause of thoracic spine pain is due to degenerative hyperplasia of the thoracic spine, which is more common in the lower thoracic vertebrae. Thoracic stenosis causes degenerative thoracic spinal stenosis, leading to spinal cord compression. There is a costovertebral joint between two vertebrae. If the intervertebral space becomes narrower and the vertebral edge proliferates, the costovertebral joint may be forced to dislocate, affecting respiratory movement. After the intercostal nerves leave the intervertebral foramen, they run along the lower edge of the ribs. When they are pulled or compressed, intercostal neuralgia may occur.

When the thoracic spine hurts, the symptom that will appear on the patient's body is that the pain is concentrated in one point and the patient can point it out clearly. The pain does not last long, usually only one or two seconds each time, and there is a chance of recurrence. The patient experiences stabbing or even severe pain in the chest when taking a deep breath, coughing, sneezing or turning around.
