How to effectively treat involuntary movement cerebral palsy

How to effectively treat involuntary movement cerebral palsy

Involuntary movement type cerebral palsy is also a type of cerebral palsy, and it is not uncommon in life. Therefore, we must pay attention to correct treatment, attach importance to and strengthen the use of orthotics and assistive devices. At the same time, involuntary movement type cerebral palsy also requires long-term treatment.

1) Emphasis on and strengthening the use of orthotics and assistive devices

Abnormal posture, joint deformity, muscle or tendon contracture are prominent problems of involuntary movement cerebral palsy. Providing children with a stable support system as early as possible, such as auxiliary braces such as sitting correction chairs, and wearing orthotics as early as possible, plays an important role in correcting posture and preventing deformities.

2) Early intervention and comprehensive rehabilitation

Early detection, early intervention and early treatment are the key to rehabilitation treatment of cerebral palsy in children. While improving motor function, we also take into account the rehabilitation treatment of all disorders, focusing on the rehabilitation of oral movement and swallowing function, language, intelligence, hearing, and vision. Improvement in intelligence can significantly improve coordination and self-control in sports training.

3) Long-term rehabilitation

Children with this type of cerebral palsy have severe and extensive motor disorders, complex and diverse symptoms, and a generally poor prognosis. A long-term treatment plan is necessary to fully develop the children's potential motor functions. As children with this type of disease grow older and their intelligence level improves, their self-control ability and awareness of active movement continue to increase. Their motor function improves significantly with age over a certain period of time. Some children do not have the ability to walk until they are five or six years old or even in their teens, so rehabilitation treatment must be continued for a long time.

4) Emphasis on family rehabilitation

Since children with this type of disease require long-term rehabilitation and most of them do not have the conditions for continuous treatment in medical institutions, special attention should be paid to the participation of the children's parents to improve the children's various functions in daily life. Family rehabilitation and community rehabilitation can enable children to acquire better living skills, promote overall development, and lay a certain foundation for their return to society.
