Wolfberry, including wolfberry leaves and wolfberry roots (Di Gupi), has extremely significant blood sugar lowering effects and should not be used on an empty stomach. If you experience symptoms of hypoglycemia (weakness in the hands and feet, hunger, etc.) after taking a large amount, you should replenish sugar quickly, otherwise you may faint or even die.

In addition, pay attention to dietary balance and do not consume any tonic products in excess, including wolfberry. Please see the side effects of wolfberry.

Modern diet and health have discovered that wolfberry contains at least: 5 kinds of bioalkaloids, mainly betaine, dozens of sterol compounds, 16 trace elements, multiple vitamins (carotene has almost the highest content in all foods), 3 kinds of fatty acids, and 16 kinds of amino acids. A large amount of water-soluble polysaccharides.

Natural beta-carotene can resist aging, fight cancer and prevent skin damage from the sun. Scientists believe that free radicals are inert factors produced by human metabolism and are active agents of body aging and cancer. Beta-carotene can eliminate the harmful effects of scavenging free radicals, and is therefore an ideal dietary factor for delaying aging. Scientific research has shown that if the diet contains a lot of carotene, the incidence of certain diseases can be greatly reduced, especially in the mouth, lungs, prostate, skin and so on. At the same time, beta-carotene can also enhance the function of the human immune system.

The effects and functions of wolfberry are remarkable. Drinking wolfberry water every day can help you live to 200 years old. Li Qingyun (1677-1933) lived to be 256 years old. He was a Chinese medicine practitioner in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. He believed that there were three reasons for his health and longevity: one was that he was a long-term vegetarian, two was that he was calm and cheerful, and three was that he boiled wolfberries in water and drank it as tea all year round.

Generally speaking, it is appropriate for healthy adults to eat about 20 grams of wolfberry per day; if you want to achieve therapeutic effects, it is best to eat about 30 grams per day. Now, many animal experiments on the toxicity of wolfberry have proved that wolfberry is a very safe and healthy food. It does not contain any toxins and can be consumed for a long time.
