What are the early symptoms of vitiligo?

Vitiligo is a common skin disease, which is related to many factors. Vitiligo has congenital factors. The early symptoms of vitiligo are relatively obvious. Different types of vitiligo have different manifestations. When symptoms of early vitiligo appear, it should be treated in time to avoid worsening of the situation.

1. Halo nevus leukoplakia

Halo nevus, also known as centrifugal acquired leukoplakia, also refers to the localized hypopigmentation surrounding a pigmented nevus. The nevus itself may fade later while the skin lesions continue to develop. It is common to see that after the central mole of a halo nevus disappears, its white halo expands, and new white spots appear in other parts of the body one after another. Most scholars believe that halo nevus is a type of leukoplakia and should be given sufficient attention.

2. Early stage white spots have a mild degree of depigmentation

The boundary with the surrounding normal skin is blurred. If it occurs on people with fair skin, it is easy to be ignored, but its "special" features should be observed in detail: there is usually no itching, or even if there is it, it is very mild; the number of depigmented spots is small, usually 1 to 2, and most of them appear on exposed skin; except for depigmentation, the skin at the depigmented spots is the same as the surrounding skin, without inflammation, desquamation or atrophy; early vitiligo should be considered first when there are no other skin diseases.

3. Characteristics of skin lesions

The skin lesions turn white. Typical white spots are as big as fingernails and coins. They are round, oval or irregular in shape. They can expand or merge into large irregular patches of different shapes. There are darker pigment bands around the white spots and island-like pigment spots in the center of the white spots. Another typical white spot is a band-like or cord-like depigmented spot distributed along the nerves, with the edges of the spots as neat as if cut by a knife.
