What to do if you have ring finger tenosynovitis?

Tenosynovitis is a common clinical disease with a variety of symptoms. Tenosynovitis of the ring finger belongs to the category of local tenosynovitis, and there are some differences in its treatment from ordinary treatment. For local tenosynovitis, you can first use medication to control pain, and surgery is generally not recommended.

1. The tendon sheaths are located near the joints of the hands and feet, around the long tendons of the muscles. The symptoms of finger tenosynovitis often occur on the palm side of the fingers. Common symptoms of finger tenosynovitis include redness, swelling, pain, and heat in the affected fingers, which are in a flexed state, because straightening the fingers will cause pain. Develop the habit of washing your hands with warm water after work, exercise your hands appropriately, and massage yourself.

2. The affected area can be treated with heat therapy, massage and sufficient rest for about 3 weeks, especially reducing manual labor that may cause the disease. Local blockade therapy can relieve early-stage tenosynovitis and should be performed once a week. If the above methods are ineffective or recur, a tenotomy should be performed, and finger flexion and extension exercises should be performed early after the operation to prevent tendon adhesion. No manual labor was required within 1 month after surgery.

3. Reasonable maintenance and rest are necessary for the symptoms of local tenosynovitis of the ring finger. Diclofenac sodium sustained-release capsules are still helpful, but you have an occupational disease caused by long-term fatigue, so it is still recommended that you take a reasonable rest and maintain your health. Generally, the problem is big or small. Acupuncture is very effective, but if you don't pay attention to rest, there is still a possibility of recurrence. Reasonable maintenance is the key. If there is no obvious pain, it is not recommended to take this medicine. This disease can be treated with acupuncture or surgery.
