What are the symptoms of enteritis?

After contracting enteritis, the patient may initially suffer from acute enteritis, with a general incubation period of about 12 to 36 hours. The patient will gradually feel nausea and vomiting, or even acute diarrhea symptoms, with watery stools, often accompanied by indigestion and persistently large amounts of stool, sticky stools, and in severe cases, blood in the stools.

Diagnosis

1. Bacterial enteritis can be diagnosed by culturing vomitus and stool and obtaining pathogenic bacteria. 2. Viral enteritis can be diagnosed by electron microscopy, immunoelectron microscopy, immunofluorescence and serological tests such as complement fixation test, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and radioimmunoassay to detect viral antigens and antibodies. 3. Parasitic enteritis can be directly examined under a microscope to find pathogens and their eggs. 4. Fungal enteritis can be treated by direct smearing from the stool, examination of fungi under a microscope or stool fungal culture.
