There is a hard lump under the skin of the abdomen that is painful to press

The symptom of hard lumps under the skin of the abdomen is mainly caused by subcutaneous lipoma, and it will cause pain when pressing. Subcutaneous lipoma can be felt by hand, and the lump can be moved by pushing it with hand. Therefore, for the case of lipoma, we can use surgical methods for treatment, otherwise it will lead to lesions. For the treatment of pain when pressing on a hard lump under the skin of the abdomen, you can read the contents of the article.

Subcutaneous lipoma generally appears as single or multiple, slow-growing, flat, round or lobed masses under the skin. When diagnosing by touch, we can feel a soft and elastic mass, and there is a certain degree of mobility and fluctuation when pushing the mass with our hands. The skin where the lipoma grows usually does not look abnormal and is not painful, but it can still cause pain if the tumor interferes with local movement or is pressed with the hand. Single lipomas are larger and usually appear in the abdominal wall, chest wall, lower back, shoulders or neck. Multiple lipomas are smaller and generally harder than single large tumors. They grow symmetrically and are often painful.

Subcutaneous nodules generally appear as small round or oval nodules with a diameter of 0.2 to 10 cm and are usually hard. Except for the pain caused by skin breakdown or infection, there are generally no symptoms at other times. It is often seen in areas with more friction such as the elbows, Achilles tendons, scalp or around joints, and part of it can also be seen on the ears and nose bridge. Subcutaneous nodules are divided into gouty nodules, erythema nodosum and panniculitis nodules. Gout nodules are generally found in the helix, antihelix, finger (toe) joints and other parts. They are small in size with a maximum diameter not exceeding 2cm and can cause pain when pressed. There may be edema around the erythema nodosum, and the skin surface may be hot and tender. The nodules of sebaceous membrane inflammation are of medium hardness, with clear boundaries and obvious tenderness.

Pressing a lump under the skin will cause pain. We should first determine which disease is causing it so that we can effectively treat and prevent it. If it is a subcutaneous lipoma, which is large and will hinder the movement of the tumor, we can remove it surgically. If it is a small tumor with no obvious symptoms, we can leave it alone. If the pain is caused by subcutaneous nodules, we should develop good living habits, not stay up late, not smoke or drink, have a good attitude and stable emotions, eat a light diet, and eat more fruits and vegetables to improve immunity. Try to stay away from smoke, radiation, pesticides, toxic heavy metals, etc. When you are in a polluted environment, it is best to wear a mask and take other protective measures.

If there is a lump under the skin, it will hurt when pressed. Many people will reflexively think that it is a sign of cancer or other malignant diseases and become frightened. In fact, many of these lumps are benign and can basically disappear on their own, so there is no need to worry too much. However, we must develop healthy sleeping and eating habits, maintain a good attitude and mood, and remember to protect ourselves when we are outside.
