What are the causes of difficulty falling asleep?

Many people tend to ignore the problem of difficulty falling asleep. In this case, we should consider whether it is a common cause. Difficulty falling asleep can be said to be a kind of insomnia, which is related to people's psychology and physiology. For more people, difficulty falling asleep is mainly due to psychological reasons, which need to be adjusted.

First, fear of insomnia

Many people suffer from long-term insomnia, so when they go to bed at night they worry about not being able to fall asleep, or they try their best to fall asleep quickly, but end up not being able to fall asleep. Because the higher-level nervous activity of the human cerebral cortex has two processes: excitation and inhibition. During the day, brain cells are in an excited state. So, after a day's work, you need to rest, enter a suppressed state and sleep, and after a night's rest, you will naturally become awake again. It's a cycle like this.

Second, the fear of dreaming

Many people who claim to suffer from insomnia are often awakened from their dreams. Therefore, they cannot view dreams correctly, and think that dreams are a sign of poor sleep, that dreaming is harmful to the human body, and even many people mistakenly believe that dreaming too much is the so-called insomnia. These ideas are wrong, but they often make people anxious and afraid of dreaming again after falling asleep. This mentality often affects the quality of sleep.

Third, self-blame

Some people may feel guilty and blame themselves after a mistake, and replay the mistake over and over in their minds, leading to insomnia. Because there are many things to do during the day, the feelings of self-blame and regret are slightly lighter, but at night I "wander" in the fantasies and excitement of self-blame and regret, and cannot fall asleep for a long time. Therefore, it is best not to bring things to bed when you go to bed. Listening to light music or reading a magazine can help you sleep.
