How to check renal failure effectively?

Renal failure is a relatively common disease. After suffering from this disease, what we need to do is to choose the appropriate method for treatment. Generally, a detailed examination of the patient's ureter, half of the kidney, and the body's secretion should be performed to ensure the cause of the disease before examination and treatment.

Objective: To explore the diagnosis and treatment of acute post-renal renal failure.

Methods: The clinical data of 37 patients with post-renal acute renal failure (PARF) from 2005 to 2011 were retrospectively analyzed, and the diagnosis and treatment methods were summarized. Emergency ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URL), retrograde ureteral catheterization or percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) were performed according to different conditions. Serum creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were monitored in all cases.

Results: After the operation, the blood Cr and BUN of all patients decreased progressively, 32 cases returned to normal, 3 cases developed azotemia, 1 case developed uremia, and 1 case died.

Conclusion: There are many causes of acute post-renal renal failure, mainly stones, tumors, and progressive urine retention caused by prostatic hyperplasia. The principle of emergency treatment is to relieve obstruction and improve renal function. After kidney function is restored, treatment is given according to the different causes.

Acute renal failure: obstruction, ureteroscopy, diagnosis and treatment

Acute post-renal renal failure is a common critical emergency in urology. The disease progresses rapidly and the prognosis is poor if not properly treated. A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 37 patients with post-renal acute renal failure who were admitted to our hospital from March 2005 to June 2011. The diagnosis was timely and the treatment results were satisfactory. The following report is given.

Treatment:

When renal function deteriorates and acute renal failure (ARF) occurs, the cause must be identified immediately. First, the infection must be controlled and blood volume must be replenished. If accompanied by severe high blood K+, hemodialysis should be performed early. After excluding prerenal and renal ARF, all confirmed cases underwent emergency ureteroscopy. Patients with ureteral stones were given laser lithotripsy and a double-J tube was placed; those without ureteral stones were given a double-J tube; those who failed to place a double-J tube had percutaneous nephrostomy on the side with more hydronephrosis. Catheterization was performed in patients with BPH. Patients with solitary kidney can undergo dialysis first and then lithotripsy. All cases were examined for changes in blood Cr and blood BUN after surgery.
