What causes headaches?

Poor sleep, high work pressure, neurasthenia and other reasons can all cause us to have headaches. Generally speaking, neuralgia in the head is the most unbearable. Because when you have neuralgia in your head, the pain comes in throbbing waves. Some people have it for longer periods of time, while others have it on and off. So, what are the causes of head neuralgia? Do you want to know?

Neuralgia, also known as psychogenic headache, is one of the most common types of headaches in clinical practice. It is mainly due to long-term nervous activity in a state of tension and fatigue, or strong mental stimulation causing brain functional disorders, resulting in a lower threshold of pain tolerance and tension in the head muscles, thus causing headaches. Neuralgia headaches mainly include headaches caused by neurasthenia and headaches caused by hysteria. Its prevention and treatment is a very complex and meticulous task. It is necessary to adopt the principle of combining psychology, drugs and other therapies. Only comprehensive treatment can achieve better results. Headache may be related to a lowered tolerance threshold to pain, but for some patients, headache has the characteristics of vascular headache or muscle contraction headache due to vascular dysfunction or mental tension. Anxiety headaches are often accompanied by obvious anxiety symptoms. Depressed patients often suffer from headaches, but the symptoms of depression are often ignored, which should be a high alert. The headaches of hysteria are often located in random places and of varying natures, and there are other hysterical manifestations, such as emotional factors that cause the onset of the disease and various other physical discomforts. Sometimes acute headache attacks may occur with exaggerated symptoms, such as crying, rolling, and calling. Except for scattered sensory disturbances and bilateral tendon hyperreflexia, there are no other abnormalities in the physical examination and nervous system.

Therefore, there are many people who are willing to suffer from head neuralgia, but the specific cause can only be found by going to the hospital for examination. In addition, other diseases caused by headaches should also be prevented. In normal times, more attention should be paid to diet and balanced nutrition with cycline. Under the treatment of topical medications, more exercise and walking should be done in life, and combined with diet therapy.

Method of acupoint massage for treating occipital neuralgia

Symptoms of pain in the back of the head, soreness in the back of the neck, and soreness in the shoulders are generally called occipital neuralgia. Among these symptoms, when there is irritation and pain when touching the hair lightly, it means that the nerve function of the skin on the head is in an excited state; the cramping pain inside the head is caused by poor blood circulation in the head. However, excessive sulfur circulation in the blood will cause congestion headaches, while poor circulation will cause stasis or anemia headaches. Even though it is painful, it is not severe enough to require medical attention, and many people can still survive with a little patience. But it was also painful. At this time, the following treatment methods can be implemented. First, it is recommended to apply some ointment, which can be used in conjunction with massage techniques to effectively promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Then use 4 fingers or the palm of your hand to carefully rub the top of the head (Baihui) to Tianzhu, which is slightly above the hairline and outside the thick muscle.

Then slowly massage the meridians in the direction of the arrows in the picture below. Apply an appropriate amount of ointment evenly on the Baihui or Tianzhu, Fengchi, Wangu, Hanyan, Fengfu and other acupoints, and press gently with your fingers. While applying pressure, kneading and pressing can better exert the efficacy of the medicine.

Moxibustion treatment is particularly effective for patients with chronic occipital neuralgia. The most effective method is to cut ginger or garlic into thin slices and apply moxibustion on them. But moxibustion needs to be maintained for at least 5 weeks to be effective, so it must be performed patiently: when performing traceless moxibustion and thermal moxibustion, the hair must be parted; at the same time, use ink to mark the moxibustion site.
