What can I use to soak my feet to dispel the cold? Soaking my feet with ginger can dispel the cold

Soaking your feet in hot water frequently can promote blood circulation throughout the body, make the body healthier, and can also effectively prevent the invasion of some diseases. Especially in the autumn and winter seasons, soaking your feet with ginger is more effective in dispelling the cold. People who are afraid of cold can soak their feet frequently.

1. Soak your feet in ginger to dispel the cold

Ginger is pungent, warm and has the effect of dispelling cold and relieving exterior symptoms, and has relatively few toxic and side effects. People who are afraid of cold and have cold hands and feet can soak their feet in ginger.

Generally, take 15 to 30 grams of ginger (about half a piece of medium-sized ginger), flatten it, put it in a pot, add half a pot of water, cover the pot and boil it with hot water for 10 minutes. After cooking, pour out all the ginger water and add appropriate amount of cold water to about 40℃ (not too hot). When soaking your feet, the water should cover your ankles, and it is best to rub your feet while soaking.

Ginger contains many small molecules as medicinal ingredients. Covering the pot when cooking can prevent them from volatilizing. Use half a piece of ginger for half a basin of water. If you use a lot of water for foot soaking or have severe cold symptoms, you can increase the amount of ginger as appropriate.

2. Cinnamon foot bath to reduce swelling

Cinnamon, also known as cinnamon bark, official cinnamon or fragrant cinnamon, and Sichuan pepper are both commonly used household spices, and both have the effect of warming the kidney yang. Foot soaking can relieve edema caused by kidney disease.

Nephrogenic edema is edema caused by problems with kidney function or disease. It usually first occurs in areas with loose tissue, such as the eyelids, face, and ankles. It is most obvious when you wake up in the morning. Pressing the skin in the edematous area with your fingers may cause depression. You can use 15 grams each (a handful or a small piece) of Sichuan pepper and cinnamon to boil and soak your feet. The cooking method is the same as that of ginger.

If edema symptoms begin to appear in the sagging parts of the body (such as the legs) and gradually spread to other parts of the body, it may be cardiogenic edema caused by heart function problems. For this type of edema, you can choose to soak your feet in water boiled with ginger, which can promote blood circulation in the lower limbs and thus help reduce edema.

3. Soak your feet in mugwort to warm your lungs

Mugwort is warm in nature, bitter in taste, and non-toxic. It has the effects of restoring yang, regulating qi and blood, expelling dampness and cold, stopping bleeding and stabilizing pregnancy. It is also often used in acupuncture, so it is also called "medicinal herb". Soaking your feet in mugwort can improve lung function and is very beneficial for people with chronic bronchitis and those who easily cough up white phlegm.

The method of soaking feet with mugwort is similar to that of soaking feet with ginger. Generally, 30 to 50 grams (a small handful) of dried mugwort is boiled in water for soaking feet. The cooking method is the same as before.

Patients with severe cold and dampness in their bodies can soak their feet in mugwort once a week, and drink a cup of ginger and red dates water at the same time (10 dried red dates plus two slices of ginger, add ten bowls of water and boil for two hours).

During the mugwort foot bath, you should pay attention to drinking more warm water, eating less cold food, and getting enough rest. Discomfort in the head, face, throat, and chronic bronchitis caused by false heat and real fire can be relieved to a certain extent.

People with fever, low blood pressure or diabetes should soak their feet in mugwort under the guidance of a doctor. Soaking your feet in mugwort 2 to 3 times a week is sufficient, but not too frequent. Soaking your feet in mugwort can guide fire downward, which may sometimes cause insufficient Qi and blood in the head and face, easily leading to dizziness, headaches, and emotional changes.
