Persistent stomach pain for one month

Persistent stomach pain for one month

If you have persistent dull pain in your stomach for a month, you should seek prompt attention because this disease may be caused by symptoms of gastric cancer or pancreatic cancer. Therefore, the patient cannot continue with this condition, otherwise the best time for treatment will be missed. Stomach pain usually does not last long and may be caused by stomach disease. This is caused by improper diet, so everyone should correct bad eating habits.

Persistent dull pain in the stomach does not necessarily mean stomach cancer, because in addition to stomach cancer, gastritis may also cause persistent dull pain, so it is necessary to distinguish the cause. The most common cause of persistent stomach pain is bacterial infection of the stomach, such as gastritis caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. After killing the bacteria, gastritis will naturally be relieved and the pain will gradually disappear. Therefore, abdominal pain caused by gastritis can be relieved and treated. However, the abdominal pain caused by gastric cancer can be relieved by general medicines with poor effect or even ineffectiveness, and needs to be checked by gastroscopy. In addition, ulcer disease can also cause abdominal pain, but the pain will be relieved after the ulcer disease is cured. Therefore, in clinical practice, it is necessary to check whether the abdominal pain is caused by gastritis, ulcer or gastric cancer.

In addition, the so-called stomach pain is not necessarily caused by the stomach. Attention should also be paid to other organs. For example, the most common pancreatic cancer can also cause persistent dull pain or even back pain. It has a special body position. It is more comfortable to bend over and press the stomach, but it will be very painful after straightening. It is a typical pancreatic cancer pain. This kind of pain usually means that the location is deeper, in the retroperitoneum. In addition, masses in the gallbladder or liver, especially the left lobe of the liver, can also cause pain in the left upper abdomen where the stomach is located, so care should be taken to rule out diseases of other organs, as the pain may not necessarily be in the stomach itself.

Some people have experienced stomach pain, which is sometimes caused by improper diet, such as eating hard, difficult to digest or spicy food. Some patients with stomach problems also have stomach pain, so many people do not take stomach pain seriously, thinking it is only a temporary condition. This is very incorrect, because in fact stomach pain is also one of the early manifestations of gastric cancer.

The stomach pain in the early stage of gastric cancer manifests as dull pain, which has no fixed time and is continuous. The difference from the pain of general stomach diseases is that patients with gastric ulcers usually have pain before or after meals, while the stomach pain of gastric cancer is irregular.

What are the early symptoms of gastric cancer?

1. Nausea, belching, acid reflux and vomiting

If the patient often feels nauseous, it may be because the gastric cancer lesions grow at the exit of the stomach. When the tumor grows to a certain extent, the patient's stomach may be blocked, so belching will occur, and the patient will exhale a sour or egg-smelling gas. Symptoms of vomiting may also occur. Once these situations occur, go to the hospital for examination in time.

2. Upper abdominal distension

If you often experience a burning sensation or bloating in the upper abdomen, especially after meals, and these symptoms become more severe over time and as the disease progresses, then you may have gastric cancer, but sometimes these symptoms may also occur with indigestion or chronic gastritis, so you can distinguish them. Generally, these symptoms of indigestion occur after overeating, while in chronic gastritis, such symptoms usually recur and will not get worse day by day.

3. Loss of appetite

In the early stages of gastric cancer, patients may suddenly experience anorexia and loss of appetite, especially greasy food. Aversion to greasy food can also occur when there is a problem with the liver, but if it is a liver disease, it is usually accompanied by jaundice and darker urine color, making it easier to distinguish between the two. Therefore, once patients experience symptoms such as loss of appetite and aversion to greasy food, they need to be careful and should be checked to see if they have gastric cancer.
