1. It is best not to use any products containing disinfectants at home, including baby bottle cleaners, baby wipes, etc.;

2. Bottles and nipples do not need to be thoroughly sterilized every time. For example, some mothers like to scrub the milk containers with detergent and then put them in the sterilizer. In fact, this is not necessary. Personally, I suggest disinfecting once a day at most. The rest of the time, just rinse, brush, and scald with hot water, then drain and store normally.

3. Breastfeeding is a bacterial feeding. The bacteria on the mother's nipples and the skin around the nipples are inhaled by the baby and are beneficial to the establishment of normal intestinal flora. Therefore, there is no need to deliberately clean the nipples before breastfeeding. If you feel that you are a little dirty, such as after sweating, you can wipe your nipples with a clean wet towel.

Finding Candida albicans hyphae and spores is the basis for laboratory diagnosis. Testing can determine the type of yeast so that the doctor can give your baby more accurate medication.

2. Complications of thrush in infants:

Oral thrush can cause pain. If a baby has thrush, his mouth will feel painful and he will refuse to breastfeed, resulting in a decrease in food intake and slow weight gain.

If thrush spreads to the back of the mouth, it may spread to the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach. Once the esophagus is infected, the baby will feel uncomfortable when swallowing, and may even refuse to drink water for fear of pain, which may cause dehydration.

If left untreated, yeast infections may spread to other parts of the body. Of course, diffuse yeast infections are very rare. If this happens, more effective antifungal treatment is needed.
