Black mole on foreskin

Black mole on foreskin

Moles are very common and are generally caused by an excess of local melanocytes. It is generally benign and does not require treatment and has no adverse effects on health. If you feel that it affects your appearance, you can go to the dermatology department of the hospital for liquid nitrogen cryotherapy or ultra-pulsed carbon dioxide laser treatment; if the mole becomes painful or itchy in a short period of time, it is possible that it has become cancerous. At this time, it is recommended to go to the dermatology department of the hospital for surgical removal and pathological examination. So let’s find out what to do if there is a black mole on the foreskin!

Pigmented nevus, also known as black nevus, is a pigmented spot, patch or nodule formed by nevus cells on the body surface. Warty pigmented nevi that are large in size and protrude from the body surface are commonly known as "moles". Folk physiognomy books often say that a mole on a certain part of the body will bring good fortune or misfortune, but this is actually unscientific. The medical treatment of pigmented nevi is based on the perspective of aesthetics and preventing the malignant transformation of pigmented nevi. Larger and more numerous pigmented moles on the face obviously affect the appearance and generally need to be removed. Pigmented nevi on areas of body friction, such as the palms, soles, and mucous membranes, are recommended to be removed as soon as possible because they have a higher tendency to become malignant.

It has become a common consensus among the public that pigmented nevi have the potential to become malignant. But not all moles will become malignant. What are the signs of malignant transformation of a mole? If a pigmented nevus shows the following symptoms, it is a sign that it is about to or has already become malignant and should be treated as soon as possible. Including: the pigmented nevus grows rapidly or the area size does not change significantly, but the thickening is significant; the color changes, the color deepens, especially the appearance of a light blue hue; hair loss, scab removal or the appearance of satellite lesions; surface damage, bleeding, ulcer formation; unexplained symptoms such as itching, pain, inflammation, etc.

Regardless of the purpose of treating pigmented nevi, the principle of "either don't treat it or treat it thoroughly" should be followed. Whenever possible, small congenital nevi should be removed preventively. Dark spots on the hands and feet, especially those that appear after the age of 30, must be removed. At present, some patients are afraid of surgery and are willing to undergo laser treatment for pigmented nevi. However, laser is not suitable for pigmented nevi, and the treatment is not thorough and prone to recurrence. Early melanoma and pigmented nevus are difficult to distinguish with the naked eye, and blind laser treatment stimulation can cause the lesion to spread. There have been reports in China of laser treatment leading to the spread of melanoma, and the lesson is very profound. Drugs, freezing and other methods can also be used, but they are only suitable for lesions with a diameter less than 3mm. For pigmented nevi with a diameter of more than 4mm, surgical removal must be adopted.
