Pharyngitis is divided into acute pharyngitis and chronic pharyngitis. Acute pharyngitis usually occurs after a cold. Acute sore throat is similar to tonsillitis. Its symptoms include laryngeal edema and inflammation, red, swollen, hot and painful throat, severe bad breath, red tongue, yellow tongue coating, dry mouth and preference for cold water. The symptoms of chronic pharyngitis are dry throat and dry throat, which is an evolution of acute pharyngitis. The symptoms of chronic pharyngitis are not redness, swelling, heat and pain like those of acute pharyngitis. They also have a close relationship with the kidneys, and the kidney meridians can reach the throat. Therefore, the acupoints for treating pharyngitis are mainly located on the lung meridian (such as Shaoshang, Yuji, Lieque) and the kidney meridian (such as Zhaohai); in addition, Hegu point on the large intestine meridian and Tiantu point on the Ren meridian are also important acupoints for treating pharyngitis.

The specific operation method of acupoint massage is: press the tip of the thumb (or index finger, middle finger) on the acupoint, and rub and press with the fingers in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. (3) Hegu (Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian: Yuan point)

[Location] Between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones on the dorsum of the hand, at the midpoint of the radial side of the 2nd metacarpal bone.
