Where is the best place to treat vitiligo in children

Many parents will find some white spots on their children, which will lead to skin problems. This will make parents very anxious. This is mainly because the course of this condition is very long and the skin damage is very obvious. At this time, it requires a lot of patience to receive treatment. You must make your children happy and try to ensure that the indoor temperature and humidity are completely appropriate.

Treatment:

Many vitiligo patients, especially those with a long course of disease and skin lesions in non-exposed areas, stop treatment on their own when winter comes because they believe that white spots will not develop in winter. In fact, this is an illusion on their part. In winter, due to less sunlight exposure, normal skin becomes lighter and the color difference between it and white spots decreases, which can easily be mistaken for the improvement of white spots. In late spring and early summer, the sunlight is stronger and there are more opportunities for sunlight exposure. As the normal skin color darkens, the color difference between it and white spots also increases. As the normal skin color darkens, the color difference between it and white spots also increases. In addition, people wear less clothes in hot weather, which can easily expose the white spots originally covered by clothes, which can easily be mistaken for the worsening of the disease. It can be seen from this that it is inappropriate to interrupt treatment at will in winter, which will delay treatment. The correct approach is that treatment should not be affected by seasonal factors. Regardless of spring, summer, autumn or winter, treatment should be insisted on and persevered. Do not terminate or give up treatment at will.

To be precise, there is no specific drug for vitiligo worldwide, like isoniazid for treating tuberculosis, to eradicate vitiligo. There is no drug or treatment that can guarantee a cure for every patient. But this does not mean that vitiligo cannot be cured. Due to the complexity of vitiligo, the specific medicines that others have taken may not be effective for you, and vice versa. Generally speaking, if a medication has been taken for 5-6 months and there is no effect at all (including the appearance of pigment islands, dark circles, white spots becoming less white, area reduction or healing, etc.), you can consider trying other medications.

(1). Hormone drugs. Such as prednisone. Although this drug is fast-acting and easy to use, it has serious side effects. Long-term clinical practice has shown that its disadvantages outweigh its advantages. The reason is that no matter what method is used, this type of drug cannot eliminate the inhibitory effect on the body's adrenal cortex function, and over time the body will become dependent on it. In mild cases, it can cause side effects such as acne, rosacea, glaucoma, skin streaks and atrophy, purpura, bacterial and fungal infections. In severe cases, the original adrenal gland secretory function is suppressed and atrophied, resulting in the loss of the normal function of secreting adrenal hormones. Once patients stop taking the medication, they will experience severe rebound effects, making the condition more difficult to cure. Therefore, patients with vitiligo should use this type of drug with caution, especially those in the early stages of the disease and children.

(2). Anti-tumor drugs. The drugs used clinically to control vitiligo are nitrogen mustard drugs. Long-term use of these drugs can easily cause skin atrophy and aging.

(3). Copper preparations. Copper ion is an important cofactor of tyrosinase and is closely related to the activity of tyrosinase. Therefore, copper-containing drugs are useful to treat this disease. However, clinical reports show that there have been fatal reactions to intravenous copper sulfate in the treatment of this disease, so it should not be used.
