How to give birth faster if you are overdue

How to give birth faster if you are overdue

If the due date has passed but the baby has not been born, the pregnant woman can be said to be very anxious, fearing that there will be some problems with the child. In fact, don't be too nervous at this time. Just pay attention to closely observe the fetal movement at all times, continue to have prenatal examinations, and strengthen prenatal examinations. There are many reasons for exceeding the due date, such as incorrect calculation of the due date, etc. As long as a good examination is carried out, don't worry too much.

How to give birth quickly when the due date is approaching

Many babies will not show any signs of labor when the due date arrives. Some mothers will become anxious at this time, worrying about what to do if the baby has not been born by the due date. In fact, it is normal to give birth within two weeks before or after the due date. If a baby is born between 24 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, it is considered premature, and if it is born after 42 weeks, it is considered post-term.

If a pregnant woman has passed her due date but has not yet shown any signs of labor, she must pay attention to the following points:

1. Don’t be too nervous and pay attention to fetal movements. If the fetal movement is less than 3 times per hour or less than 20 times within 12 hours, or the fetal movement weakens, you need to go to the hospital for further examination immediately. The doctor will decide the time of delivery based on the situation.

2. Continue with prenatal checkups and give the doctor the results of early pregnancy examinations (such as B-ultrasound, blood tests, pregnancy tests, etc.) and the time and results of fetal movement, so that the doctor can check the gestational age again.

3. Strengthen prenatal examinations, shorten the intervals between examinations, keep in touch with the doctor at any time, inform him of the intrauterine fetal movement, and follow up the amniotic fluid volume with B-ultrasound. If there are no abnormalities, the pregnancy can be continued under close monitoring.

If the due date is postponed to more than 14 days, reaching the so-called clinically prolonged pregnancy, you should go to the hospital in time to take measures. Because at this time the placenta of some pregnant women will age and the fetus will suffer from lack of oxygen and suffocation, which is very harmful to the child.

How to avoid not giving birth on your due date

Although the due date may not be accurate, and exceeding the due date does not necessarily mean there is a great danger, it will still bring some harm and should be avoided as much as possible by doing more preparation in the early stage.

1. In the first six months before pregnancy, women should record each menstrual cycle in a timely manner so as to calculate a more accurate due date. You should go to the hospital for a check-up 2 months after menopause, and have regular prenatal check-ups thereafter, especially after 37 weeks of pregnancy, at least once a week.

2. If there are no signs of delivery more than a week after the due date, you should actively go for a check-up and let the doctor diagnose whether the pregnancy is overdue based on the size of the fetus, the amount of amniotic fluid, the function of the placenta, the maturity of the fetus, or through B-ultrasound.

3. Pregnant women can also measure fetal movements themselves. If the number of fetal movements is less than 20 times within 12 hours, it means the fetus is abnormal; if it is less than 10 times, it means the fetus is in danger and you should seek medical attention immediately. If it is confirmed that the pregnancy is overdue, the doctor should induce labor in time.

4. Always pay attention to the condition of the fetus in the womb. If there are no signs of delivery after 42 weeks of pregnancy, go to the hospital in time and ask the doctor to help end the delivery.
