Are pull-ups useful for lumbar disc herniation?

Doing pull-ups is effective for lumbar disc herniation, especially for patients with pain, it should be able to achieve a certain relief. Of course, when doing this exercise, you should also pay attention to the strength and avoid doing it for too long. This method can only provide certain relief and there is no way to get a complete cure. Therefore, if you have lumbar disc herniation, you still need to receive good treatment in time, including physical therapy, drug therapy, surgical treatment, etc.

How to treat lumbar disc herniation

1. Physical therapy. It is recommended to use several physical therapy methods together to treat lumbar disc herniation, which will have better results. For patients with bulging and mild disc herniation, massage (also called manual reduction) is recommended to use manual bone setting combined with traction, and local hot compress with Chinese medicine. However, traction is not recommended for patients with huge herniation or disc herniation.

2. Drug treatment. Many patients use some anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic drugs to treat lumbar disc herniation, but these drugs have certain side effects on the human body and should not be taken for a long time. In particular, patients with liver, kidney disease, hypertension, and diabetes should pay attention to contraindications to avoid causing new discomfort.

3. Magnetic therapy. Magnetic therapy is a method of treating diseases by applying magnetic fields to the human body. The magnetic field affects the distribution of electric current in the human body, the movement of charged particles, the permeability of the membrane system, etc., causing changes in the physiological and biochemical processes of tissue cells, producing effects such as analgesia, swelling reduction, and promotion of blood and lymph circulation.
