Which tumor has the highest incidence rate?

In recent years, the incidence of tumors in my country has been very high. Lung cancer has the highest incidence and mortality rate among malignant tumors in my country. About 591,000 people die from lung cancer every year. From a global perspective, the incidence of tumors has also been increasing significantly. More than 590,000 people die of lung cancer in my country each year

Chen Wanqing, deputy director of the National Cancer Registry Center, introduced on February 4 that based on the malignant tumor registration data from various registries across the country collected by the National Cancer Registry Center in 2016, the National Cancer Center recently released the "Analysis of Malignant Tumor Incidence and Mortality in China in 2013" report. The report shows that in 2013, there were approximately 3.682 million new cases of malignant tumors and 2.229 million deaths nationwide. Lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, female breast cancer, and esophageal cancer account for about 66% of all new cancer cases; lung cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, and colorectal cancer are the main causes of death from cancer, accounting for about 70% of all cancer deaths.

Lung cancer is the number one killer among tumors. The report shows that lung cancer ranks first in the incidence of malignant tumors in the country, with about 733,000 new cases each year, of which 489,000 are males; lung cancer is also the leading cause of death from malignant tumors in the country, with about 591,000 deaths each year, of which about 402,000 are males.

In 2013, the national incidence and mortality rates of malignant tumors were basically the same as in 2012, with the incidence in men being relatively higher than in women; the incidence in cities was higher than in rural areas, while the mortality rate in rural areas was higher than in cities. In addition, the incidence of thyroid cancer in women is about 108,000, with a clear upward trend, ranking fifth among female malignant tumors. The annual increase in incidence has been close to 20% in the past 10 years; the incidence of prostate cancer in men has increased rapidly, with about 60,000 cases each year.

The incidence of malignant tumors is increasing worldwide

Malignant tumors are diseases that seriously threaten human health and social development. The latest data released by the World Health Organization show that 8.8 million people die from cancer each year, accounting for nearly 1/6 of the total number of deaths worldwide each year. Chen Wanqing introduced that in recent years, the incidence rate of malignant tumors has generally shown an increasing trend worldwide. Among 184 countries and regions, the incidence rate of malignant tumors in China is generally at an upper-middle level, and the number of cases accounts for about 21.8% of the world's total. With the aging of the population and social and economic development, the accelerated industrialization and urbanization, and the constant changes in environmental factors and lifestyles, the situation of cancer prevention and control in my country is grim.

In 2017, the theme of World Cancer Day promoted by the International Union Against Cancer is "We can, I can beat cancer". The official website of World Cancer Day lists six risk factors for cancer: smoking, drinking, environment, unhealthy diet, lack of exercise and carcinogens.
