What causes black stool?

Defecation is a normal reaction of metabolism and the most normal physiological phenomenon of human beings. Of course, whether a person's bowel movements are normal or the color of the stool can reflect a person's health status, especially for children. Because children cannot speak, they cannot express themselves even if they are unwell. Therefore, parents can only find out whether their children are healthy through some physical signs.

So what happens if a person's stool is black? In fact, many patients with diseases have black stools, which can easily induce people to confuse some diseases. So what are the common diseases that are easily confused? Let's take a look at the introduction below.

Foul-smelling, foamy white stools: Patients with strongyloidiasis may have foul-smelling, foamy white stools, and may even develop severe steatorrhea. Intestinal symptoms and signs: The intestinal symptoms caused by Strongyloides stercoralis are mainly long-term diarrhea, frequent dysentery, watery stools or mucus and bloody stools, and tenesmus. The second symptom is abdominal pain, mostly located in the right upper abdomen. Constipation occasionally occurs.

Brown or dark green mucus stools for infants: The amount of stool decreases and is mucus, dark brown or dark green in color. It often occurs after indigestion or restricted food intake, and will recover after feeding more milk. Diarrhea stool, stool with too much water or uneven stool, egg drop soup-like appearance, obvious fishy smell, or a lot of foam or mucus, etc., all indicate that the baby has diarrhea.

What causes black stool? Seeing brown-red fruit peels or hair in the stool: The clinical manifestations of enterolithiasis ileus are similar to those of gallstone ileus. It often starts as a partial obstruction, and complete intestinal obstruction may occur when the enterolith moves down with intestinal peristalsis to the smaller terminal ileum. Therefore, the obstruction site is mostly found at the terminal ileum, and in a few cases it can be seen in the duodenum, colon, rectum, etc.

What's the matter with black stool? It can be seen that if a person's stool is black, it means that the body is not very healthy and may be a sign of some disease. Of course, this symptom can easily be confused with other diseases. In order to distinguish them, go to the hospital to consult a doctor in time to avoid having a certain disease and not being discovered in time.
