How to treat oral herpes

Herpes in the mouth is usually caused by oral simplex herpes. At this time, it is necessary to treat it in time. Some painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs can be used for treatment, but try not to use hormone drugs. Oral and topical drugs can achieve obvious therapeutic effects. For more serious cases, systemic treatment should be carried out. For example, patients should use some intravenous glucose solution for treatment. Some Chinese medicine can also be appropriately selected for treatment, and the effect is also very good.

Treatment of oral herpes simplex: 1. Local treatment with anti-inflammatory and analgesics, but not hormonal drugs. 1. Local ointments: 1% chlortetracycline glycerol, neomycin or bacitracin or boric acid ointment, 1% gentian violet solution, 0.1% herpes eye drops, etc. 2. Apply wet compress with 0.1% ethacridine lactate (Livanol) solution and 0.025% to 0.05% zinc sulfate solution. 3. If the pain is severe, you can gargle with 1% to 2% procaine and 0.5% to 1% dyclonine solution to relieve the pain. 4. Laser irradiation can relieve itching, relieve pain, promote the absorption of blister fluid and scab formation.

II. Systemic treatment 1. Supportive therapy: Proper rest and symptomatic treatment. Give high-energy, easily digestible, nutritious liquid or soft food. Take a multivitamin by mouth. If necessary, 5% to 10% glucose solution can be injected intravenously. 2. For systemic medication, you can take Viroguanine (morphine biguanide), 0.2g per tablet, 1 to 2 tablets each time, 3 times a day. Take isatis root tablets or granules orally, stomatitis granules, etc. For seriously ill patients, drugs such as levamisole, polyinosin, and interferon can be used. 3. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) such as Baihu Decoction can be used to provide dialectical treatment.

Diagnosis of oral herpes simplex: It is not difficult to make a diagnosis based on the following characteristics: 1. Herpetic stomatitis: It is more common in infants and young children. After high fever and sore throat, clusters of small blisters or ulcers or large ulcers formed after fusion appear on the oral mucosa. They can heal themselves in about 7 to 14 days. 2. Herpes labialis: more common in adults. The most common sites are the red lip mucosa and adjacent skin, with clusters of blisters, itching, and scabs after rupture. It is self-limited and recurrent. When the disease occurs, blister fluid can be taken for virus inoculation, or a blister base smear can be taken, or the diagnosis can be confirmed by an increase in the titer of anti-herpes simplex virus antibodies in the blood.
