Prescription: Huoxue Tongmai Yin with modifications. Medicinal herbs include Salvia miltiorrhiza, red peony root, Chinese angelica, Ligusticum chuanxiong, honeysuckle, Smilax glabra, red bean, and raw coix seed. The prescription uses salvia miltiorrhiza, red peony root, angelica root, and chuanxiong to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis; honeysuckle, wild yam, red bean, and raw coix seed to clear away heat, promote dampness, and unclog the meridians. For severe pain, add roasted armor beads, processed frankincense, and processed myrrh to promote blood circulation and relieve pain; for those with yang deficiency, fear of cold and cold limbs, remove the honeysuckle and add cinnamon twig, asarum, and aconite to warm the yang; for those with qi deficiency, add codonopsis and astragalus to invigorate qi and strengthen the spleen.
