What kind of cerebral palsy does a baby have if he doesn't grab things?

If the baby does not grab objects or cannot grab objects, parents must be vigilant. The baby may be showing symptoms of cerebral palsy. In addition to these symptoms, babies with cerebral palsy are relatively insensitive to sound and light stimulation. Sometimes babies with cerebral palsy will choke when feeding and their sucking will be weak. In addition, their eyes are dull and they cannot recognize people. They lag behind babies of the same age during development.

How to detect whether your baby has cerebral palsy early

1. Neonatal period:

The baby's gaze and tracking time is short, and he or she is slow to respond to sound and light stimulation. He or she is weak when sucking milk or chokes on milk, has slow weight gain, does not cry or cries weakly, or cries abnormally, and has difficulty sleeping. He or she is easily startled, the whole body is overly soft or stiff, the movements are significantly reduced, and the sense of touch is dull, especially around the eyes, mouth, palms, soles of the feet, etc. He or she will not blink, open the mouth, or retract his or her hands and feet. 2. 1~3 months:

He does not pay attention to people, does not stare, does not follow other people's gazes, and cannot smile. He cannot hold his head upright or tilt it back. He has difficulty raising his head when lying in a prone position. His upper limbs cannot support his trunk. His shoulders are planted on the bed and his hips are raised high. The thumb is adducted, the hand is clenched into a fist or the forearm is internally rotated and extended, the limbs are strong, and there is obvious resistance during passive movement. Bilateral limb posture and movement are asymmetric.

3, 4~5 months:

His expression is dull, he doesn't recognize people, and he is slow to react when he is played with. The patient cannot reach out to grab objects or has abnormal grasping posture, cannot turn over, raises head less than 90 degrees when lying prone, and cannot lift chest. The sitting position is either fully forward leaning or backward leaning. Cross your lower limbs and put your toes on the ground. 4.6 months:

Slow reaction, short attention span, no interest in toys, slow reaction to sounds, does not recognize mother, cannot play in front of mirror, cannot sit after 6 months, stiff or loose limbs, upper limbs extended backward (commonly known as airplane hands), toes touching the ground when standing, feet inverted, feet everted, and cross gait. In addition, children with cerebral palsy have abnormal muscle tone and posture, which are mainly manifested in excessive exertion during passive activities, reduced range of joint motion, and muscle stiffness, such as difficulty in thigh abduction, knee flexion and difficulty in straightening, legs straightened and adducted when held upright, legs crossed in a scissors shape, flexion of the elbow and wrist joints of the upper limbs, and frequent clenching of the hands with the thumbs adducted. Older children already have many behavioral abilities, and any abnormalities can be easily detected and diagnosed.

Friendly reminder: Discovering cerebral palsy in children in early childhood is no longer considered early. Parents must not delay. The most important thing is to start treatment and training as soon as possible. The earlier treatment and training are started, the better the recovery. In addition, the diagnosis of cerebral palsy is very scientific and rigorous. We cannot simply diagnose our children with cerebral palsy based on any abnormality, which will cause unnecessary worry. If you find that your child has abnormal behavior, it is best to go to a regular hospital for examination and clear diagnosis.
