Contraindications of fumigation

Traditional Chinese medicine is generally divided into two methods: internal treatment and external treatment. Fumigation is a branch of external treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation has a long history. There are records about fumigation in the pre-Qin period, and it matured in the Qing Dynasty. Fumigation therapy has a wide range of applications, and has good effects on insomnia, depression, periarthritis of the shoulder, cervical spondylosis, chronic strain, etc. However, fumigation has its contraindications and cannot be used indiscriminately. So, what are the contraindications of fumigation?

Indications of Chinese medicine fumigation:

Indications: Used for the treatment of rheumatoid disease, rheumatic cold joint pain, ankylosing spondylitis, lumbar disc herniation, osteoarthritis, and frozen shoulder.

1. ENT: myopia, hyperopia, dacryocystitis, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, etc.

2. Rheumatic diseases: rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, periarthritis of the shoulder, ankylosing spondylitis.

3. Bone injury diseases: lumbar disc herniation, degenerative osteoarthritis, various acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.

4. Skin diseases: psoriasis, scleroderma, pruritus, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.

5. Internal Medicine: colds, coughs, hyperlipidemia and hyperproteinemia, diabetes, insomnia, neurosis, thromboangiitis obliterans, and chronic enteritis.

6. Gynecology: dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, etc. The ten major benefits of fumigation therapy: dredging meridians can relax muscles and bones, open up the body's meridians, promote blood circulation, and is effective for various types of rheumatism.

Fumigation taboos

1. Pregnant women and women during menstruation.

2. Severe bleeding.

3. Patients with severe heart disease and hypertension.

4. Tuberculosis.

5. Patients with heart failure and renal failure.

6. Aneurysm.

7. Impaired thermal sensation.

Precautions

1. When performing fumigation therapy, attention should be paid to preventing burns at all times, all utensils should be kept firm and secure, the heat source should be reasonable, and the medicine should not come into contact with the skin.

2. Children, the mentally retarded, the elderly and the infirm should not be fumigated for too long and need to be accompanied by family members.

3. Pay attention to disinfection of fumigation bath utensils.

4. During treatment, the intake of spicy, greasy, sweet and other foods should be properly controlled.

5. During treatment, stop using all facial cleansers.

6. Drink 300-500ml of boiled water after fumigation.
