Preventing respiratory infections in spring

Preventing respiratory infections in spring

Spring is for growth, summer is for growth, autumn is for harvest, and winter is for storage. Each season has its own characteristics. Spring is a season for growth of all things, but bacteria also become active in spring. Therefore, the most important thing we should do in spring is to prevent some viral infections. Our respiratory tract is very sensitive. If we do not pay attention in spring, respiratory infections are likely to occur.

The occurrence of respiratory tract infection brings a lot of trouble to patients. Although we have many methods to treat respiratory tract infections, it is better for us to learn how to prevent respiratory tract infections. Let’s take a look at the details below.

Spring is a high incidence period of respiratory infectious diseases. Due to the large temperature changes in spring, the human body's immune function and the defense function of the respiratory mucosa are reduced. Especially in foggy and haze weather, the number of suspended particles in the air increases and the density of pathogenic microorganisms increases, making it easier for pathogenic microorganisms to invade susceptible people through the respiratory tract. At the same time, pathogenic microorganisms continue to spread outward with respiratory secretions and invade another susceptible person, which leads to the multiple and clustered occurrence of respiratory infectious diseases.

Respiratory system infections can be roughly divided into upper respiratory tract infections and lower respiratory tract infections. Upper respiratory tract infection mainly refers to the area above the throat, including the nose, pharynx, and larynx. Common diseases include colds, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, etc. Lower respiratory tract infection mainly refers to the area below the throat, including the trachea, bronchi, bronchial tree, alveoli and other tissues. Common diseases include tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, etc. There are many pathogenic microorganisms that cause respiratory infections, and viruses, bacteria, fungi, mycoplasmas, and chlamydia are all common pathogenic microorganisms. Different parts of the body and different pathogenic microorganisms infections require different drug treatments. The symptoms of respiratory tract infection lack specificity. Fever, cough, and sputum may occur in various respiratory tract infections. When patients experience the above symptoms, they should go to the hospital for treatment in time and do not blindly purchase antibiotics for treatment on their own.

Recommendation: To prevent respiratory infectious diseases in spring, special attention should be paid to keeping warm, adding or removing clothes as appropriate, and windows should be opened frequently to ventilate indoors to keep the air fresh. In your diet, pay attention to eating more fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, and drink more warm boiled water. You should also engage in appropriate outdoor activities and strengthen exercise to enhance the body's ability to resist pathogenic microorganisms.

Above we introduced the characteristics of spring. Although everything grows in spring, bacteria and viruses are also very active, so we must do a good job of prevention. Our respiratory tract is so sensitive, so the most important thing we should do in spring is to prevent respiratory infections.
