What should I do if my child's neck is a little crooked?

As children grow, their bones are still very tender and are easily affected by external factors, resulting in developmental abnormalities. A crooked neck is a typical symptom. There are many factors that may cause a child's neck to grow crooked. Bad sitting posture and bad sleeping posture can lead to this situation. The key is to take effective measures to correct it as soon as possible. So, what should we do if our child’s neck is a little crooked?

The baby's neck may be a little crooked, which is called torticollis. Parents should pay attention to it and take effective measures to treat the baby as soon as possible to prevent the symptoms from becoming more and more serious. Clinically, it is concluded that if the symptoms of torticollis in babies can be discovered early and some home care methods are taken in time, the baby can recover and avoid surgery.

1. Pinch and knead the local lump: This is a commonly used method in clinical practice to treat baby's wry neck, and it is also the most effective conservative treatment method for baby's wry neck. The specific method of kneading is to let the baby lie on his side, with the affected side on top and his back facing the parents. Next, the parents can pinch the local lump on the neck with the pads of the thumb, middle finger, index finger and other three fingers, and knead it from top to bottom along the direction of the hard muscle, and then knead one side from bottom to top. Repeat this for 10 minutes, but pay attention to gradually increasing the finger strength during the process. As long as the parents use appropriate techniques and finger strength, the lump can gradually soften. After completion, pinch the lump with your fingers and move it left and right in the vertical direction. This can be done twice a day, each time for about 10 minutes.

2. Correction of sleeping posture: When the baby is sleeping, the posture opposite to the deformity should be adopted. That is to say, parents should not be afraid of trouble and always pay attention to correcting the baby's sleeping posture. When parents hold the baby horizontally in a sitting position, they should pay attention to let the diseased side of the baby's neck face up. When the baby raises his head, the neck muscle tissue can be trained, thereby correcting the crooked neck.
