What to eat to recover faster from lumbar fracture

Patients with lumbar fractures need to supplement appropriate nutrients while cooperating with treatment so that they can recover faster. So what should you eat to speed up recovery from lumbar fracture? Below we will provide you with some different dietary suggestions for different stages of lumbar fracture. If you follow the recipe below, I believe that patients with lumbar fractures will recover as soon as possible!

Early stage of lumbar fracture:

Since the injured area is swollen and congested, the meridians are blocked, and qi and blood are blocked, early treatment should focus on promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and promoting qi and dissipating qi. Therefore, the diet should be light, eat more vegetables, eggs, soy products, fruits, fish soup, lean meat, etc. Avoid spicy, hot, greasy, bone soup, fat chicken, stewed fish, etc. For dietotherapy, you can use Panax notoginseng, Angelica sinensis, and pigeon meat. Stew them together until they are soft, and eat the soup and meat together, once a day for 7-10 days.

Mid-term lumbar fracture:

During this period, the treatment mainly focuses on relieving pain, removing blood stasis, promoting new blood circulation, and connecting bones and tendons. Therefore, the diet can be changed from light to appropriate high-nutrition supplements to meet the needs of bone callus growth, such as bone soup, Panax notoginseng chicken, animal liver, etc., to supplement more vitamins A, D, calcium and protein. For dietotherapy, you can use angelica, bone-healing herb, dipsacus, fresh pork chops or beef ribs, stew them for more than 1 hour, and eat the soup and meat together, for 2 consecutive weeks.

Late stage of lumbar fracture:

In the later stage of fracture, the swelling at the fracture site is basically absorbed and callus begins to grow. The treatment is mainly aimed at promoting the formation of stronger callus and relaxing muscles and tendons, so that the adjacent joints of the fracture can move freely and flexibly and restore their previous functions. Dietary taboos can be lifted, and recommended foods include: old hen soup, pork bone soup, mutton bone soup, deer tendon soup, stewed water fish, etc. For diet therapy, you can use wolfberry, bone-healing herb, dipsacus, and coix seed. First boil Drynaria fortunei and Dipsacus asper to remove the residue, then add the remaining two ingredients to cook porridge and eat. Take once a day, 7 days as a course of treatment. There is a 3-5 day interval between each course of treatment, and 3-4 courses can be used.

When you get up early after a lumbar fracture, you should be careful not to eat too much tonic, such as bone soup, fat chicken, stewed fish, etc. Otherwise, blood stasis will accumulate, making it difficult to dissipate, which will inevitably delay the course of the disease, slow the growth of bone callus, and affect the recovery of joint function in the future. A balanced diet can better promote bone growth. During the recovery period, it is better to use a harder bed for better recovery.
