What does gallbladder mass mean?

The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ under the liver. It stores bile, a fluid produced by the liver that digests fat. As your stomach and intestines digest food, your gallbladder releases bile through a tube called the common bile duct. A duct connects the gallbladder and liver to the small intestine. If something is blocking the flow of bile through the gallbladder, it is usually a gallstone. Gallstones form when material in bile hardens, and many gallbladder problems get better with gallbladder removal. So what does gallbladder mass occupation mean?

Gallbladder space-occupying lesions, also known as polypoid lesions, refer to the general term for protruding lesions of the gallbladder that appear under B-ultrasound and have a high incidence rate. It is often found during physical examination.

Most patients have no symptoms, but a small number of patients experience upper abdominal pain and other symptoms of indigestion. If the tumor is small, asymptomatic, and has no changes during B-ultrasound follow-up, observation can be performed first.

However, surgery should be performed in the following situations:

1. Those who grow too fast in a short period of time;

2. Volume exceeds 1 cm;

3. Patients with gallstones;

4. Tumors considered to be malignant as shown by B-ultrasound or CT.

The surgery is generally performed by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Rapid frozen section is recommended during the operation. If there is malignant transformation, radical resection of gallbladder cancer is performed.

examine:

1. Laboratory examination: mainly manifested as liver function abnormalities of obstructive jaundice, such as increased bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase.

2. Ultrasound examination: Repeated and careful ultrasound examination can show the site of dilated bile duct obstruction.

3. PTC: It is the main method for diagnosing gallbladder cancer. It can show the location and range of gallbladder cancer and has a high diagnosis rate.

4. CT: The basic manifestations of gallbladder cancer on CT are: the proximal bile duct of gallbladder cancer is obviously dilated, the bile duct wall close to the tumor is thickened, and the bile duct is clearer and can be enhanced during enhanced scanning. The lumen is irregularly narrowed and deformed, and tumor shadows with soft tissue density can be found.

5. ERCP: Direct observation of the interdigital papillary angiography can show the obstructed distal bile duct

6. Angiography: Angiography can better determine whether gallbladder cancer can be removed.

7. Cytological examination: On the basis of PTCD, the sinus tract is enlarged and a fiber choledochoscope is inserted to directly observe and clamp the mass for biopsy. When performing PTC or PTCD, bile can be extracted for cytological examination. The earlier the disease is discovered, the better the treatment effect. Taking ginsenoside Rh2 (life-protecting factor) with an anti-cancer active substance content of more than 16% can control the progression of the disease and prevent tumor metastasis and spread. Inhibiting the growth and proliferation of cancer cells and inducing the transformation of cancer cells into normal cells is a promising way for early-stage cancer patients to become healthy again.
