Specific drugs for treating stomatitis

Experts told us that if stomatitis is not particularly serious, it can usually be cured within two weeks through certain methods. In daily life, we should avoid inducing factors, eat a balanced diet, and lead a regular life. If the condition is more serious, we should use medication for treatment. Drug treatment includes local and systemic medication. For people who are not deficient in minerals and vitamins, these nutrients should be supplemented in time so that stomatitis can be completely cured.

1. Non-drug treatment: For oral ulcers with mild symptoms, there is actually no need to use medication and they can heal naturally. But be careful to avoid factors that induce oral ulcers, and keep your mouth clean and hygienic. In addition, if the problem is due to uneven vitamin intake, you must start with dietary adjustments to supplement the necessary nutrients. If the problem is due to side effects caused by medication, you should discuss it further with your doctor. The symptoms of oral ulcers can be improved after stopping the medication. 2. Local medications are used to treat recurrent stomatitis or oral ulcers caused by other systemic diseases. Common medications include analgesics, mucosal protectants, antibacterial agents, anti-inflammatory preparations, etc., which are applied topically to control the ulcer situation.

3. If the recurrence rate of systemic medication is too high or the number of ulcers is too large during recurrence, immunomodulators may be considered for treatment. As for more serious cases of recurrent stomatitis and Bayes' syndrome, the treatment effect of local medications is not ideal. Therefore, oral medications can be used instead for treatment. 4. Treat the disease from its root. If the patient is deficient in iron, folic acid or vitamin B12, they should be supplemented. If the infection is caused by herpes virus, especially in immunocompromised patients, antiviral drugs should be taken. If the mouth ulcer is caused by bacterial infection, antibiotics should be given. In addition, oral ulcers caused by fungal infections are mostly systemic infections, so systemic antifungal drugs should be given for treatment. It is worth noting that if there are suspected oral ulcers caused by intestinal diseases, autoimmune diseases, skin diseases, blood diseases, and malignant tumors, it is necessary to refer to relevant specialists for more detailed examinations.

5. If there is no improvement within 2 weeks, seek medical attention immediately. Usually, oral ulcers are more likely to occur when the body's immune function deteriorates. People do not need to worry too much, because normally they can recover naturally within 2 weeks. However, if oral ulcers persist for more than 2 weeks without improvement, you should seek medical treatment as soon as possible to rule out the possibility of other major diseases or systemic diseases. If the patient suffers from recurrent oral ulcers, there is no need to panic. As long as the patient follows the doctor's instructions and takes medication, good improvement can be achieved.
