Ways to lower cholesterol

Cholesterol is mainly a colorless crystal existing in the body. It is mainly distributed in the cell membrane and is also a relatively key substance. It is mainly distributed to perform some functions. It is stored in some parts of the body or is a neogenetic acid and some components of the cell membrane and synthesis technology. It is distributed in animals and some human bodies. The cholesterol content is usually the highest in the food in daily life, so cholesterol is generally ingested in food.

Many patients produce high cholesterol and moderate cholesterol foods. High cholesterol will lead to other types of diseases. Other types of symptoms and diseases have a high causal relationship with increased cholesterol. The key to diet is to control cholesterol more reasonably.

There are two completely different and one-sided views on the role of dietary cholesterol. One view is that cholesterol is extremely harmful and should not be eaten. This view is one-sided because those who hold it lack a clear understanding of the role of cholesterol in the human body. In fact, cholesterol is a component of cell membranes and is involved in the biosynthesis of some steroid hormones and bile acids. Since many foods containing cholesterol are also rich in other nutrients, if you avoid these foods too much, it can easily cause nutritional imbalance, leading to anemia and other diseases.

Another view is that cholesterol does not cause much harm to the human body and people can consume as much as they want. The reason why this view is wrong is due to the lack of understanding of the pathogenesis of hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease. Long-term excessive intake of dietary cholesterol will lead to the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.

Regarding the question of how much cholesterol is appropriate to consume every day, it is generally believed that healthy adults and patients with hypercholesterolemia without coronary heart disease or other atherosclerotic diseases should consume less than 300 mg of cholesterol per day, while patients with hypercholesterolemia with coronary heart disease or other atherosclerotic diseases should consume less than 200 mg of cholesterol per day.

It is best to eat foods rich in dietary fiber, such as celery, corn, oats, etc.; the tea pigments in tea can lower total blood cholesterol, prevent atherosclerosis and thrombosis, and green tea is better than black tea; vitamins C and E can lower blood lipids and adjust blood lipid metabolism. They are found in high levels in dark or green plants (vegetables, fruits) and beans. Limit high-fat foods such as animal offal, and eat vegetable oil instead of animal oil.

Drinking alcohol may increase the level of high-density lipoprotein in the blood, thereby enhancing the effect of preventing and treating hypercholesterolemia. The appropriate amount of alcohol consumed per day should not exceed 20 grams (not more than 50 grams for liquor). Wine is more suitable, but the intake must be strictly limited.

Foods high in cholesterol include: egg yolks, animal brains, animal liver and kidneys, cuttlefish (squid), crab roe, crab paste, etc. Crabs are high in cholesterol. Every 100 grams of crab meat contains 235 mg of cholesterol, and every 100 grams of crab roe contains 460 mg of cholesterol. Pork liver contains a high level of cholesterol. According to analysis, every 100 grams of pork liver contains about 368 mg of cholesterol.

The above are methods to lower cholesterol. The key to lowering cholesterol is eating more foods rich in vitamins, such as fish and soy. Intake of more vitamin C or other types of vitamins can prevent diseases of some organs. The key to diet in daily life is to control cholesterol reasonably. Eating less high-fat foods is also critical.
