Baby shivers while feeding

Baby shivers while feeding
There are many reasons why babies tremble while feeding. Since the baby's nervous system is not yet fully developed, occasional trembling is normal. Some babies are particularly anxious when feeding and are prone to choking, which may cause the child to tremble at this time. Some children suffer from calcium deficiency. Supplementing calcium and vitamin D in moderation while getting more sun exposure can regulate calcium and phosphorus metabolism and promote absorption.

Question 1: Since the baby's nervous system is not yet fully developed and the inhibitory function is poor, generalized shaking and tremors of the limbs may often occur. If the baby does not have other symptoms, it cannot be considered abnormal. , which is generally a normal physiological manifestation, but if the baby shakes and tremors frequently, such as frequently exerting force and shaking after falling asleep at night, you should consider whether there is a calcium deficiency. It is recommended that you take your child to the hospital to check the trace elements to clarify. Question 2: When a child has the following symptoms, he should be diagnosed with calcium deficiency: difficulty falling asleep, difficulty entering a deep sleep, crying after falling asleep, easy to wake up, sweating after falling asleep; paroxysmal abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramps, sternum pain, "X"-shaped legs, "O"-shaped legs, pigeon chest, gray nails or white marks; anorexia, picky eating; irritability and restlessness during the day; delayed intellectual development and speaking; late learning to walk, starting after 13 months; late teething, starting after 10 months, sparse, irregular, and loose teeth, black pointed or jagged teeth; sparse hair; poor health and easy to catch a cold, etc.

Recommendation: While supplementing calcium, take an appropriate amount of vitamin D. Vitamin D can regulate calcium-phosphorus metabolism and promote calcium absorption. In addition to taking vitamin D, it can also be synthesized in the body through sun exposure. You can synthesize enough vitamin D by spending more than half an hour outdoors in sunny conditions every day. If you are taking calcium supplements, it is best to choose a calcium supplement containing VD.

Question 3: Many children nowadays have this phenomenon. If they shiver simply when they are breastfeeding or half asleep, it is not a big problem. In very rare cases, it is due to calcium deficiency or poor brain development. If this happens even when they are not breastfeeding or half asleep on weekdays, you should be alert to the possibility of abnormal brain development, abnormal EEG function and abnormal discharge. Recommendation: If the child has no history of premature birth, no history of suffocation or infection, and is simply shaking while feeding and half asleep, there is no need for special examination and treatment, just observation. Occasionally due to calcium deficiency, calcium can be supplemented. If the child has a history of abnormalities, then this situation must be taken seriously. In addition, parents can also evaluate the child's development themselves. For example, can the six-month-old child sit down well and is about to practice crawling? If you go to the hospital, it is recommended that you first give the child an EEG.
