Male genital skin swelling

Male genital skin swelling

The swelling of the male genital skin is actually foreskin edema. The cause is closely related to hygiene, masturbation, etc. It may also be edema caused by surgery. The importance of genitals to men is self-evident. We must fully understand the situation, actively seek treatment, and strive to recover as soon as possible. Let’s take a closer look at the situation of foreskin edema.

Causes : 1. Infection factors: History of laser or electrocautery surgery on the coronal sulcus and foreskin, resulting in postoperative infection; or other reasons leading to bacterial infection of the foreskin and formation of edema. 2. Allergic factors include mosquito bites, application of medications or use of contraceptive devices, etc. 3. Physical factors include abrasions during sexual intercourse, long-term foreskin inversion and incarceration, excessive washing and violent trauma. 4. Others include edema caused by chronic balanoposthitis and edema due to unclean sexual behavior whose cause is difficult to identify.

The clinical manifestations are that the foreskin swells like a swimming ring around the coronal sulcus, or wraps around the glans penis and swells like a hemisphere. In severe cases, the surface becomes translucent. Some patients also have coronary sulcus ulcers, erosions, and yellow purulent secretions. The diagnosis is mainly based on medical history, clinical manifestations, and combined with etiological examination. Complications of balanitis can easily lead to urethritis, prostatitis, orchitis, epididymitis and vas deferens, etc.

Treatment 1. General treatment (1) Keep the area clean and dry, avoid all kinds of irritation, and clean the glans penis and foreskin daily. (2) Avoid unclean sexual behavior and suspend sexual life during treatment. If it is trichomoniasis or candidal balanitis, both husband and wife should be treated at the same time. (3) Eat less spicy food and avoid smoking and drinking. 2. Etiological treatment: For infectious edema, actively treat the infected wound and apply systemic antibiotics; for allergic edema, use systemic antihistamines, glucocorticoids and other drugs. 3. Symptomatic treatment: Edema caused by physical factors can be treated according to symptoms, including surgical removal of incarceration and treatment of traumatic wounds. 4. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment Traditional Chinese medicine has a good effect on the treatment of this disease. The general treatment principle is to clear away heat and detoxify, astringe and reduce swelling.
