What ointment should I use for frozen shoulder?

Periarthritis of the shoulder is a very common disease. Most patients with periarthritis of the shoulder suffer from cold shoulder joints or chronic strain. It is generally very common among the elderly, and periarthritis of the shoulder is prone to recurring. Patients with periarthritis of the shoulder can actually apply some plasters for treatment, and then cooperate with some drugs to relax muscles and promote blood circulation. When treating periarthritis of the shoulder, you must eat a light diet, eat more fruits and vegetables, and proper shoulder joint exercise is very necessary.

For frozen shoulder, you can apply some blood-activating and pain-relieving plasters, such as Yunnan Baiyao ointment, musk bone-strengthening ointment, etc. Plasters can indeed relieve pain and alleviate the symptoms of periarthritis of the shoulder to a certain extent. However, when applying the ointment, you also need to do more shoulder joint exercises, which will help the recovery of periarthritis of the shoulder. Severe periarthritis of the shoulder will cause tenderness: most patients can feel obvious tender points around the shoulder joint, and the tender points are mostly in the tendon groove of the long head of the biceps brachii, the subacromial bursa, the coracoid process, the attachment point of the supraspinatus muscle, etc. Severe periarthritis of the shoulder may cause muscle spasm and atrophy: the deltoid, supraspinatus and other muscles around the shoulder may experience spasm in the early stage, and disuse muscle atrophy in the late stage, with typical symptoms such as acromion protrusion, difficulty in lifting, and inability to extend backward. At this time, the pain symptoms are actually relieved.

For patients with periarthritis of the shoulder, special attention should be paid to joint movement. They can practice Tai Chi, Tai Chi sword, gateball frequently, or do exercises such as arm suspension, using pullers, dumbbells, and hand swinging at home. However, care should be taken to avoid excessive exercise to prevent damage to the shoulder joint and surrounding soft tissues.

To prevent frozen shoulder, you can do shoulder abduction and adduction exercises: stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, hold the fitness bar with your hands hanging down and palms facing up, about 40-60 cm apart. When practicing abduction, use the force of the healthy arm to push the affected arm outward with the help of the fitness bar, and maintain the posture at the outermost point you can reach. When practicing adduction, use the force of the healthy arm to pull the affected arm inward with the help of the fitness bar, and maintain the posture at the innermost point you can reach. Be careful to keep your elbows straight at all times. When practicing, do 1-2 sets a day, 10 times each set, and hold the abduction and adduction positions for 5 seconds each time. Patients with frozen shoulder are advised to take medication and choose appropriate treatment methods according to their own conditions under the guidance of a doctor.
