What to do if the upper jaw is burned and peeled

Many people may get their palate burned when they eat because they don't pay attention to the fact that the food is too hot. For example, when eating hot pot, the palate is often burned. The skin on the palate may fall off directly after being burned. At this time, it can be said that the burn is more serious. The correct method must be used to deal with it to avoid the problem from getting worse. What should I do if the skin on my palate is burned and falls off?

Compared with burns in other parts of the body, oral burns are more difficult to treat because it is difficult to apply medicine inside the mouth. Overheated food can not only burn the mouth, but in severe cases it can also burn the esophagus and even cause esophageal stenosis.

Different degrees of burns require different emergency treatment methods.

Minor burns

Emergency treatment: Symptoms include slight redness and pain of the oral mucosa. Rinse your mouth repeatedly with cool water or with some ice cubes. "Cooling therapy" has the effects of cooling down, reducing residual heat damage, reducing swelling, relieving pain, and preventing blistering. The cooling time should be more than 15 minutes.

Bubbles or broken bubbles

Emergency treatment: No treatment is required for small blisters. If the blisters are as big as soybeans and the wounds are shallow, you can use sterilized scissors to cut the blisters open (it is recommended to be done in the hospital), dip them dry with sterilized cotton balls or gauze, and apply some comfrey oil or comfrey flower ointment.

Moderate or severe burns

Emergency treatment: If the burn is severe, the burn area is large and has been damaged, you need to seek medical attention immediately, because this degree of burn is likely to involve systemic diseases, and improper treatment may cause life-threatening!

The temperature of the food is too high, causing burns on the roof of the mouth

Emergency treatment: Gargling with warm salt water can provide relief, because salt can neutralize the acidic environment of the mouth and prevent bacterial infection. At this time, you should avoid eating hot and crude fiber foods, and eat more foods that are easy to swallow and digest.

Notice

After oral burns, do not apply soy sauce or other substances on the wound. Doing so will not only affect the doctor's judgment of the condition, but also infect the wound. It is best to send to a specialist hospital for diagnosis and treatment immediately.
