Stomach discomfort and foaming at the mouth

Symptoms such as stomach discomfort and foaming at the mouth are likely to be symptoms of food poisoning caused by accidentally ingesting poisonous food. If this problem occurs, the patient must deal with it in a timely manner and go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible, otherwise his life will be threatened. Food poisoning can be treated through vomiting, catharsis, detoxification and other methods. These three methods will be introduced in detail below!

Food poisoning is generally characterized by a short incubation period, concentrated time, sudden outbreak, and fierce force. According to statistics, most food poisoning occurs in July, August and September. Clinically, the symptoms of acute gastroenteritis are mainly vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, dehydration, shock, and circulatory failure may be life-threatening. Therefore, once food poisoning occurs, you must not panic, but should calmly analyze the cause of the disease, and take the following emergency measures in a timely manner according to the food that caused the poisoning and the length of time it was taken:

1. Induce vomiting

If the drug is taken within 1 to 2 hours, vomiting can be induced. Immediately take 20g of table salt and add 200ml of boiling water to dissolve it. After cooling, drink it all at once. If you don’t vomit, you can drink it several times to quickly induce vomiting. You can also use 100g of fresh ginger, mash it, extract the juice and drink it with 200ml of warm water. If you eat spoiled meat, you can take ten drops of water to induce rapid vomiting. Some patients may also use chopsticks, fingers or goose feathers to irritate the throat and induce vomiting.

2. Catharsis

If the patient has taken food for a long time, generally more than 2 to 3 hours, and is in good spirits, he can take some laxatives to help the poisoned food be excreted from the body as soon as possible. Generally, 30g of rhubarb is decocted at a time. Elderly patients can choose 20g of Yuanming powder and take it with boiled water to relieve laxative effects. For the elderly with good physical condition, you can also take 15g of senna leaves at a time, or take it with boiled water, which can also achieve the purpose of catharsis.

3. Detoxification

If the food poisoning is caused by eating spoiled fish, shrimp, crab, etc., you can take 100ml of vinegar and add 200ml of water, dilute it and take it all at once. In addition, you can also use 30g of Perilla frutescens and 10g of raw licorice to decoct and take it once. If you accidentally ingest spoiled drinks or preservatives, the best first aid method is to feed them with fresh milk or other protein-containing drinks.
