In modern society, more and more women are troubled by infertility. This situation should be taken seriously, because once infertility occurs, it means that one has indirectly lost the ability to reproduce. This situation is very scary. However, there are many reasons that lead to infertility, but most people do not know the specific reasons. So what will cause infertility?

Ovarian factors: As we all know, women must ovulate to get pregnant. If the hormones are out of balance, it will not promote the maturation of eggs and ovulation, which may cause infertility. Medical research shows that about 10% to 15% of infertile couples are due to ovulation disorders in women. There are many factors that cause ovulation disorders clinically, such as severe malnutrition, allergies, malabsorption, excessive weight loss, high work pressure, excessive strenuous exercise, exposure to chemicals or radiation contaminated environments, etc., all of which may cause ovulation disorders. Certain diseases can also affect ovulation, or even prevent eggs from being released. For example: "Polycystic ovary disease" is mainly due to its hormonal imbalance, causing ovulation disorders and even infertility. In addition, some chromosomal abnormalities, such as Turnet's syndrome, or premature ovarian failure, mean that no eggs can be released.

Cervical factors: The cervix is ​​the first checkpoint for sperm to enter the uterine cavity. Sperm must use cervical mucus as a medium to move and smoothly pass through the cervical canal into the uterine cavity. If there is a problem with the secretion, acidity or thickness of cervical mucus, sperm cannot pass through the cervix, which can also cause infertility.

Uterine factors: The entire complex endocrine changes, including the hypothalamus, pituitary glands and ovaries must work in a coordinated manner to achieve perfect reproductive function. The hormones secreted by the ovaries act on the endometrium, causing it to proliferate and thicken, mainly providing a fertile developmental environment for the fertilized egg so that it can take root and grow. If there is a problem with the reproductive endocrine system, it will affect ovulation or the fertilized egg will not be able to implant normally.

Some women have luteal insufficiency, which makes it too easy for them to get pregnant. The luteal phase of a normal woman should last 12-15 days. If the high temperature period is less than 10 days when measuring the basal body temperature, luteal insufficiency should be considered. A small number of women have underdeveloped uteruses or congenital malformations, which often result in miscarriage or infertility. In addition, certain pathological changes in the endometrium, such as endometriosis, endometrial polyps, subendometrial fibroids, uterine cavity adhesions, endometrial tuberculosis, allergies, chemical toxins, malnutrition or infection, will also interfere with the normal implantation of the fertilized egg and cause miscarriage or infertility.

Fallopian tube factors : If the fallopian tubes are blocked, sperm and eggs cannot pass through smoothly, and of course pregnancy is impossible. There is even concern about extrauterine pregnancy. This factor accounts for 20%-30% of all infertility causes and can be said to be the main cause of female infertility. Only a very small number of women have congenital malformations that cause fallopian tube stenosis, blockage, or even absence of fallopian tubes. The vast majority of patients have fallopian tube blockage due to sequelae of bacterial infection, such as pelvic inflammation, tuberculosis transfer infection, or infection after induced abortion.

Peritoneal cavity factors: Since all female internal reproductive organs are located in the peritoneal cavity, if there are some physical or mechanical factors in the peritoneal cavity that hinder the conception process, it will also affect conception, such as pelvic adhesions, endometriosis, etc., which may cause changes and damage to the anatomical structure of the fallopian tubes and may cause infertility.

In addition, for some patients with unexplained infertility, that is, no clinical cause can be found, current medical research has found that the inflammatory chemicals contained in their peritoneal fluid will affect the conception process such as ovulation and fallopian tube peristalsis, thus making it difficult to conceive. Therefore, it is recommended to check the cause of infertility and treat it accordingly.
