Xiao Chaihu Granules is a traditional Chinese medicine used to treat influenza, pharyngitis or children's colds. It is made based on Xiao Chaihu Decoction, a famous classical Chinese medicine prescription. It is mainly composed of bupleurum, pinellia, bupleurum, licorice, ginger slices, red dates, etc. The therapeutic drug acts to tonify the body's heat, dissipate heat, and soothe the liver and stomach. It is mainly used to treat symptoms of exogenous cold, and the symptoms include: alternating chills and fever, fullness and pain in the chest and flanks, poor appetite, nausea, bitter taste in the mouth and dry throat, etc. The dosage is to take with boiled water, 2-4 grams at a time, 3 times a day.

The main contraindication of Xiao Chaihu Granules is that patients who have skin allergies to the ingredients of the therapeutic drugs should not take it. Xiao Chaihu Granules contain a variety of effective ingredients. People who have side effects or are allergic to any of the ingredients should not take it. This medicine has the effect of reducing fever, but it is only applicable to patients with low fever. It should not be used for patients with high fever as much as possible, as it may not have a significant effect. For special groups, such as people with severe liver and kidney dysfunction, children, and pregnant women, it is also prohibited to use.

Xiao Chaihu Granules can be used for patients with wind-heat colds. It is generally recommended to take it about 1 hour after a meal.
