There is congealed discharge between the nipples

Many women are not breastfeeding, but there is still secretion on the nipples. In fact, this situation is caused by two reasons. The pathological factors are recent breast inflammation, long-term use of contraceptives, and medication for high blood pressure, which will lead to abnormal secretions in the breasts. Early pregnancy, early and late menstruation, including minor nipple injuries, are all causes of secretion.

When women are not breastfeeding, their nipples will have secretions. This phenomenon is generally manifested as a small amount of natural overflow from both nipples, or the squeezing out of white, pure and clear secretions without blood. The main reason is due to excessive secretion of prolactin in the body. It is generally divided into two major causes: pathological and physiological.

Pathological factors: Multiple abortions in women can lead to increased prolactin levels in the body, or poor sleep, long-term medication, long-term oral contraceptives, hyperpituitarism, pituitary microadenoma, and taking anti-stress drugs, etc. Physiological factors: Generally, it is due to the stimulation of sexual intercourse that causes a temporary increase in prolactin, which will generally return to normal quickly. Women with amenorrhea will also have nipple secretions, and women with breast hyperplasia will also have nipple secretions and a feeling of swelling, which may be caused by endocrine disorders.

Identification of nipple secretions: 1. Milky secretions: Milky nipple secretions are generally physiological, and are a normal physiological manifestation mainly after weaning or miscarriage. 2. Purulent discharge: Purulent discharge is usually caused by duct ectasia and plasma cell mastitis. 3. Light yellow secretion: This type of secretion is generally common in various breast diseases. In clinical practice, it is usually more common in breast hyperplasia and also indicates the possibility of breast cancer. 4. Bloody secretions: This type of secretions are mostly bright red, light yellow, brown, or coffee-colored. It should be taken seriously as it may be breast cancer or intraductal papilloma. Especially postmenopausal women should pay enough attention to it. Women should not take nipple discharge lightly, but they don't need to panic either. You should go to the hospital for appropriate examinations as soon as possible to identify the cause and receive symptomatic treatment.
