Why are there always bruises on my body?

People's bodies are all different. Some people are fine if they fall, but others will get large bruises if they are even slightly bumped into. Sometimes they get bruises without knowing why. If bruises appear for no reason without any external injury, then you may need to pay attention, as this may be a disease. Let's take a closer look at it below.

If your body is bumped or bruised, bruises of varying sizes will appear on your skin. If your skin is prone to bruises even without any external injuries, you should pay attention to it. Medically, this condition is actually a disease called purpura.

Bruise = Purpura

Bruises are called "purpura" in medicine. When blood escapes from the capillaries into the skin or subcutaneous tissue, bleeding spots of varying sizes appear on the skin, which is medically known as purpura. Diseases that cause subcutaneous bleeding are mostly Henoch-Schonlein purpura (Sher-Hennogenin disease) caused by vascular system disorders, and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura caused by thrombocytopenia.

Henoch-Schonlein purpura

Henoch-Schonlein purpura is an allergic disease characterized by capillaritis. The main manifestations include skin purpura, gastrointestinal symptoms, joint swelling and pain, and urinary system symptoms. It is more common in children over 5 years old.

Causes

The cause of the disease is still unclear. It may be due to an allergic reaction caused by some allergen, but the direct allergen is not yet clear. The onset of the disease is often preceded by an upper respiratory tract infection caused by hemolytic streptococci, which develops after a latent period of 1 to 3 weeks.

In addition, viruses such as measles and mumps, parasites such as roundworms and hookworms, foods such as eggs, fish, shrimps, drugs such as chloramphenicol and salicylates, and other substances such as insect bites and pollen may all become allergens, causing autoimmune reactions in the body and resulting in inflammatory changes in the capillaries.

【Clinical manifestations】

The onset is relatively acute. In addition to general symptoms such as fever, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting, the main manifestations include skin purpura, gastrointestinal symptoms, joint swelling and pain, and urinary system symptoms. The onset of the disease may vary from case to case, with skin purpura being the most common. It may occur alone or may be accompanied simultaneously or successively by joint, gastrointestinal or urinary system symptoms.
