How to prevent and treat high blood pressure

In our country, there are more and more patients with hypertension. Hypertension can easily lead to a series of complications, so hypertension is a frightening disease. It is impossible for us to treat hypertension immediately. It requires a long process. In this process, patients with hypertension and their families must understand some knowledge about hypertension, such as how to prevent and treat hypertension.

Prevention and treatment of hypertension is knowledge that every family must understand. Because there are so many patients with hypertension, understanding the prevention and treatment of hypertension will help to better deal with this disease, rather than being at a loss once it occurs.

Hypertension is the most common cardiovascular disease in the world and one of the largest epidemics, seriously endangering human health. Therefore, raising awareness of hypertension is extremely important for early prevention and timely treatment.

Hypertension is a clinical syndrome characterized by increased arterial pressure, which may be complicated by damage to target organs such as the heart, brain, kidney, and retina, as well as metabolic changes. According to relevant statistics, there are already 100 million patients with hypertension in my country, and the number of new patients increases by more than 3 million each year.

At present, hypertension is usually divided into two categories: primary hypertension and secondary hypertension. The hypertension we usually refer to is primary hypertension. About 90% of hypertensive patients suffer from primary hypertension.

Relevant medical experts believe that long-term use of effective antihypertensive drugs is still one of the main measures to prevent and treat hypertension. Because hypertension often has no symptoms, especially in middle-aged people, they often feel good about themselves even if they have developed severe hypertension. Therefore, taking medicine based on symptoms causes recurrence of the disease and forms treatment misunderstandings.

Six measures to prevent hypertension:

1. Reduce salt intake

Daily salt intake should be less than 5 grams, which is about half a teaspoon per day.

2. Proper Diet

The diet should limit fat intake, eat less fatty meat, fried foods, animal offal, pastries, sweets, and eat more fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, mushrooms, low-fat dairy products, etc.

3. Reasonable weight loss and weight control

The most effective way is to moderate your diet, reduce the total calorie intake every day, and increase physical activity, including brisk walking, jogging, swimming, etc.

4. Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption

Tobacco contains nicotine, which can stimulate the heart to speed up the heartbeat, cause blood vessels to constrict, and increase blood pressure. Drinking large amounts of alcohol, especially strong liquor, can increase your heart rate and blood pressure.

5. Sports activities

Appropriate physical exercise can enhance physical fitness, lose weight and maintain a normal weight. Each activity should generally last for 30 to 60 minutes. The intensity varies from person to person, so do it according to your ability.

6. Pay attention to psychological and social factors

Patients with hypertension should pay attention to the combination of work and rest, keep a good mood, and avoid extreme mood swings.

Above, we introduced the dangers of hypertension and the large number of patients with hypertension. We don’t have to be afraid of hypertension. Although hypertension can lead to many complications, we still have many ways to achieve good results in preventing and treating hypertension. I believe that the above knowledge will be helpful to everyone.
