Education for mentally retarded children

Carrying out targeted and systematic rehabilitation training, teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, and choosing appropriate training methods based on comprehensive environmental conditions will be more conducive to improving their various functions and promoting their physical and mental development.

Generally, patients receive functional training, intelligence training, and abnormal behavior correction training. By training sensory and muscle activities, the brain's own analysis, synthesis, and regulation activities are stimulated, thereby promoting the improvement of brain function and improving physical function at the same time.

Functional Training

★ Perception training: including vision, hearing, smell, taste, time perception, etc., able to distinguish sounds, colors, tastes, object shapes and time perception, respond correctly to them and apply them in daily life to adapt to the needs of the living environment.

★Oral training: including language barrier training, oral training, daily language communication training, using sounds, words, and sentences to clearly express your needs, while combining nodding, shaking your head, smiling and other actions and expressions to make oral communication more vivid.

★Muscle training: including large muscle group training and hand function activity training, measuring the patient's running, jumping, crawling, prone, head raising, turning over, standing, walking and other movements from the aspects of strength, balance, coordination, speed, as well as the gross motor and fine motor aspects of hand function activities. These are necessary areas in the rehabilitation training of mentally retarded children. It is required to try hard to make the movements accurate, reasonably control the strength and speed, and gradually deepen from easy to difficult.
