Bones make a sound when you bite something

Bones make a sound when you bite something

If you pay close attention, you will find that some people in life always make some noises when their jaws are eating or biting. This feeling makes people very nervous and they don’t know what is going on. The reason why bones make crackling sounds when biting things is generally caused by temporomandibular arthritis. Therefore, when this happens, you should go to the hospital for examination in time and receive treatment under the guidance of a doctor according to the situation.

If your bones make noises when you bite something, it is usually due to temporomandibular arthritis, commonly known as inflammation of the hook. First of all, it is recommended not to make this noise all the time, otherwise it will become more and more serious. Then go to see a doctor. In mild cases, you may be advised to chew more gum, and in severe cases, physical therapy may be recommended.

Causes

1. Mental factors:

Clinically, patients with temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome often have symptoms such as anxiety, irritability, mental tension, excitement and insomnia.

2. Occlusal relationship:

Most patients have obvious disordered relationships, such as interference, premature cusp contact, severe locking, deep overbite, most posterior teeth missing, and excessive surface wear.

3. Excessive load on joints:

Frequent chewing of hard food, grinding of teeth at night, and clenching of teeth when nervous can overload the temporomandibular joint and lead to the occurrence of this disease. 4. Biased chewing habits:

Unilateral chewing habits can cause uneven movement of the joints on both sides and affect the development of the jaws and the balance of muscle strength on both sides. Long-term uncomfortably distorted mouth habits can easily lead to temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

5. Trauma, yawning and excessive mouth opening

Sudden cold stimulation, poor sitting posture and dental diseases can also cause damage to the temporomandibular joint, surrounding muscles and ligaments and lead to the disease.

6. Malnutrition

Endocrine disorders also have a certain relationship with the occurrence of this disease.

Main symptoms

1. Abnormal jaw movement:

The average natural opening width of a normal adult is about 3.7 cm, and the opening shape is not skewed, but in the shape of "↓". Patients with this disease will have abnormal opening degree (too large or too small), abnormal opening type (skewed or distorted), and locking of the joints when opening and closing the mouth.

2. Pain:

The main symptoms are pain in the joint area or muscles around the joints when opening the mouth and chewing. If there is organic damage to the joint or muscle spasm, the corresponding joint area and muscle tissue will be tender.

3. Joint popping and murmurs:

In a normal temporomandibular joint, there is no obvious clicking or noise when the mandible moves.
