What is Shaobei Injection

What is Shaobei Injection

Shaobei injection is a drug that can treat hemorrhoidal bleeding. It is a compound preparation of traditional Chinese medicine. This injection has the effect of cooling blood and stopping bleeding. If precipitation is found in the drug or the drug solution changes color during use, it cannot be used. Generally, patients who have been injected with Shaobei injection need to undergo inflammatory treatment, and strict disinfection should be carried out during the injection process to avoid infection and local erosion.

Shaobei injection has the effects of astringency, cooling blood and stopping bleeding, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Used to stop bleeding and shrink hemorrhoids in the treatment of internal hemorrhoids of all stages and varicose mixed hemorrhoids.

1. Usage and Dosage

First, perform routine disinfection, then perform local anal anesthesia or anal canal anesthesia, using 0.5-1% lidocaine as the anesthetic. This product is used for injection into hemorrhoids (1:1 concentration, i.e. this product is diluted 1 time with 0.5% lidocaine injection). For stage I and II internal hemorrhoids and varicose mixed hemorrhoids, expose each hemorrhoid under an anoscope, insert the needle obliquely into the central raised part of the hemorrhoid surface, and withdraw the needle after encountering muscle resistance. The injection volume for each site should be determined when the hemorrhoids are even, plump, and filled, and the surface mucosa is pink in color. The dosage for each site is 3ml~5ml. For stage III internal hemorrhoids, varicose mixed hemorrhoids with loose rectal mucosa, this product (1:1 concentration) should also be injected under the loose rectal mucosa on the hemorrhoids and near the dentate line, with a dosage of 1ml to 3ml per point; withdraw the anoscope to expose the hemorrhoids. The injection method for stage III internal hemorrhoids is the same as that for stage I and II internal hemorrhoids. Each patient should receive 10ml to 20ml at a time, with an average of 15ml. The maximum dosage should not exceed 40ml. Each patient usually receives only one injection.

2. Adverse Reactions

Some patients experience anal pain, a feeling of heaviness and distension, a feeling of moisture around the anus, and occasional nodules after the operation. Occasionally, transient urinary difficulty may occur after surgery, which usually resolves on its own within a few days and can be treated symptomatically. Sinus arrhythmia, bradycardia, and ST segment changes are occasionally observed, but the relationship between this and the drug has not been determined.

3. Notes

1. This product is a compound preparation of traditional Chinese medicine. Improper storage may affect the product quality. It should be checked in light before use. It should not be used if the medicine solution shows any discoloration or precipitation. 2. During injection treatment, the local area should be strictly disinfected, and the drug solution should not be injected too superficially, too deeply or too concentrated. It should be injected evenly under the hemorrhoidal mucosa. If the injection is too shallow or the amount of medicine is too concentrated locally, the injection site will immediately turn black. You should stop injecting at that site in time. Observe whether there is dark blood in the stool after the operation. If not, no special treatment is needed. If so, local anti-inflammatory and hemostatic treatment can be given until the blood in the stool disappears. The duration of local anti-inflammatory treatment should not exceed 7 days. If the injection is too deep, the local area will not be filled immediately, and there will be a more obvious feeling of heaviness and swelling after the operation, which may last for more than 2 days. In some cases, local erosion and bleeding may also occur. The treatment method is the same as above. 3. Postoperative treatment: To prevent infection, antibiotics should be used rationally for 3 to 5 days after surgery; try to defecate 24 hours after surgery; wash the anus with warm water or take a Chinese medicine sitz bath after defecation. 4. There is currently no experience in using the drug in the elderly, breastfeeding women, postpartum women and children.
