How to exercise three months after a fracture

Fracture patients should not only undergo appropriate rehabilitation training during the recovery process, but also maintain good exercise habits during basic recovery. So how should patients with fractures exercise after three months? In fact, it depends on your own recovery situation. It is suitable to do some exercises that will not hurt yourself. At the same time, you should not rush to increase the amount of exercise. Let's take a detailed look at the exercise recommendations after a fracture.

Our joints, such as the elbow joints, will not have any problem if they are not moved for a week. However, if the elbow joints are fixed for more than three weeks, the problem that arises is joint stiffness. Why does joint stiffness occur? In fact, this is a protective reaction of the body. In fact, there are many cavities inside the joints. If you don't move, the problem that will arise is that a lot of scar tissue will grow into the cavities. After the cavities are filled, these scar tissues will block the movement of the joints, and the joints will become stiff.

In addition, when we cook at home, we can see that there is a very smooth layer on the surface of the cut beef. This is the muscle fiber, and it is very smooth inside. If the patient does not move after fracture surgery or suffers certain injuries, such as muscle or tendon strain or bruise, the local tissue will have aseptic inflammatory exudate. After the exudate is absorbed, local adhesion will occur. Once adhesion occurs, the muscle will not be as smooth as the fresh beef we cut, and the muscle fibers will slip. At this time, adhesion will limit the movement of the joint. Therefore, it is definitely better to exercise as early as possible. If you wait until a month, it will be too late.

1. On the first day after surgery, rehabilitation exercises for calcaneal fractures include isometric exercises of the toe joints and isometric static contractions of the lower limb muscles, 3 to 4 times a day for 15 to 30 minutes each time. As time goes by, the amount of exercise can be increased appropriately.

2. 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, passive plantar flexion and dorsiflexion exercises of the ankle joint are allowed, but inversion and eversion exercises are prohibited.

3. 8 weeks after surgery, calcaneal fracture rehabilitation training can gradually include weight-bearing training.

4. Active ankle motion training can be performed for calcaneal fracture rehabilitation training 8 to 12 weeks after surgery, and gait training can be performed 12 weeks after surgery. People with ankle stiffness can undergo physical therapy, and surgery can be performed if necessary, or Chinese medicine fumigation can be used.

5. Both non-surgical and surgical treatments for fractures must be followed by regular checkups as directed by the doctor.
